The 20th annual International Conference on Petroleum Data Integration, Information and

Data Management was a power-packed three days of technical program featuring in-depth

PHILIP C. CROUSE CORNERSTONE AWARD HONOREESThe Petroleum Network Education Conference’s primary award is the Philip C. Crouse Cornerstone Award. It recognizes distinguished contributions in the application of technical data and information principles, and outstanding achievements in or contributions to the advancement of upstream petroleum data and information management as a profession and a craft.

Cindy Cummings, Exploration Technical Services, Repsol Cindy has more than 35 years of work experience in the oil and gas industry in areas of exploration, development, production and information management. Cummings worked for Conoco, IHS, Energy IQ and is currently in Exploration Technical Services at Repsol. She has authored and presented papers on Oil and Gas Data Management, Data Governance, Technology, and various other topics over the years at PNEC, PPDM, and ARMA conferences. Cummings is on the PPDM Houston Leadership Team and also participates in several PPDM work groups. She is also a certified Project Manager which helps to keep the many data management strategies, programs and projects synchronized and moving forward in this ever-changing industry.

Ray Wall, Global Chief, E&P Technical Data, ConocoPhillips Ray has worked in the oil and gas industry for 32 years, the last 28 at ConocoPhillips. Currently, he holds the position of Global Chief, E&P Technical Data where he focuses on technical data projects, practices and competency development. Prior to this, he has served in a wide variety of roles including information management, project management, and operations analysis. The common theme of his career has been to champion the management and utilization of information to provide better decisions and value to the company and industry. He has been actively involved with the PNEC Advisory Board and PPDM Houston Leadership Team.

STEWART MCADOO PILLAR AWARD HONOREESEric Toogood, Manager of DISKOS, the Norwegian National Data Repository (NDR) Manager of DISKOS, the Norwegian National Data Repository (NDR), which is a joint industry initiative for the reporting and custodianship of petroleum data from the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Toogood has more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, working in various managerial roles in data and information management. He has been involved in data and information management initiatives, working with the Norwegian Oil and Gas Association and EPIM (Exploration & Production Information Management Association).

Toogood was previously a member of the Management Committee of the Norwegian Expert Center for Information Management and the organizing committee of the annual ECIM Data Management Conference in Norway. He has also been involved in the NDR initiative for many years and is currently a member of the NDR 2017 Executive Committee. The NPD has a long history of assisting developing nations in capacity building in resource management where data management has been a focus area. Toogood is currently assisting the Government of Ghana in developing a regulatory framework for data management and in establishing an NDR.

Scott Schneider, Industry Consultant Scott has more than 30 years of experience developing and delivering commercial software products and solutions with a specific focus in Data Management within the Upstream Oil & Gas market. Schneider has worked for startup companies and large corporations and has developed a strong management skills and technical expertise over the course of his career.

During his career, he has worked for companies such as Sierra Geophysics, Landmark Graphics, Tobin International and Idea Integration. In 2003, Schneider founded Volant Solutions, a software and services company focused in the Upstream E&P industry, and led the company to a successful exit in 2012. He has long been an active leader in the development and delivery of data and application integration solutions for the upstream energy industry.

Schneider is a current member of the Cyber Engineering Advisory Board for Houston Baptist University providing guidance to develop a Cyber Engineering program for the university.

STAR OF THE CONFERENCE AWARDThis award recognizes an outstanding first-time delegate based on their insightful input and direction in the on-site conference discussions.

Mara Abel, Professor, Informatics-UFRGSMara Abel started her career as a data manager in a mining company before becoming a professor at the Informatics Institute of Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in Brazil. In the last 30 years, she has published more than 150 scientific articles and conceived several successful applications for reservoir characterization. Abel has also promoted entrepreneurship initiatives, founded the ENDEEPER knowledge system company and participated in the creation of Zenit, the Technological Park of UFRGS. She had coordinated dozens of national and international large institutional projects, such as the Citizen Portal for the Angola Government, and the PRIME Brazilian Federal Program that has supported the creation of 98 startup companies in the State of Rio Grande do Sul.
