and Environmental Education Law.]
Creates new integrated education programs and resources for schools.
Encourages school districts to implement resource conservation programs.
Mandates the State Board of Education to incorporate environmental concepts in the new science framework.
Highlights Develop a Unified Education Strategy
on the Environment for K-12 grades.
Create an Environmental Ambassador Pilot Program [EAPP].
Implement an Unified Education Grant Program [UES].
Partnerships Over 10 state agencies and departments are
stakeholders in this program.
Joint resources provided by local government, regional state boards, utilities.
Cross dialogue and partnership between school districts and their communities.
Implementation Environmental Ambassador Pilot Program
Seven participating school districts. Two year funding total of between $80,000
$102,000 per grantee. Grantees focus on development and
documentation of replicable education and resource conservation activities.
Unified Education Grant Program Thirteen participating school districts. Two year funding: Phase I $27,000 and Phase II
up to $38,000 per grantee.
