Meaning of the acronym BIM

Building Information Modeling (BIM):

• Is a digital representation of the physical and functional properties of a h2h betting tips construction.

• Is a common source of knowledge for information about a

system, as a reliable basis for decision-making during its

life cycle; since the early design until demolition.

Short definition of BIM:

Life cycle management of the built reality,

supported by process modelling and digital technology.

BIM in Germany – Current status /

Outlook In an international comparison the German construction industry is a step

behind concerning BIM implementation. Possible reasons for this are:

• Language barriers (English)

• Limited experience with high-quality work in 3D

• Fragmentation of the German construction industry

• Some parties involve in planning have no advantage because of the

German “Free Structure for ACE”

• Investigated pilot projects reveal inadequate results

• Basis’ understanding and skills are missing trained staff will be

required in order to increase the quality of the exchange

Current impulse:

• Selective promotion from the public authorities

• The federal government shows its support in the „Digitale Agenda“

• Federal associations face the big challenge
