Insure TennesseeIS A STATE-SPECIFIC, MARKET-DRIVEN SOLUTION TO THE STATE’S HEALTH CARE CRISIS.
Insure Tennessee:Keeps taxes already paid by Tennesseans and hospitals in our own state to address the health needs of Tennesseans. Without Insure Tennessee, about $7.8 billion in taxes from our state will go to provide care for residents of California, Minnesota, New York and other states.
Insure Tennessee:Will cover an estimated 200,000 Tennesseans without creating any new taxes or cost to the state budget. More than 400,000 people in the state will be eligible for coverage.
Insure Tennessee:Supports working Tennesseans. 288,000people in the Insure Tennessee-eligible population are members of the workforce but today earn too much to qualify for TennCare and do not have access to coverage through their employer.
Insure Tennessee: Helps veterans. About 25,000 Tennessee military veterans who today do not have access to health insurance will be eligible for Insure Tennessee. In fact, Insure Tennessee reduces the number of uninsured veterans in the state by 25 percent.
Insure Tennessee: Boosts the Tennessee economy by generating $1.03 billion in healthcare revenues, which would support 15,000 new full-time equivalent jobs and create $909 million in new income for Tennesseans.
Insure Tennessee:Stabilizes rural hospitals, which are cornerstones of our communities and often the only location where residents can get life-saving care.
