In this assignment, we’ll help you locate articles for your Unit 4 project.

Take the search terms “stress management” or “anxiety” or “depression” and “college students.”

For example, “stress management and college students”Enter this in the following places: Kaplan University Library Online – search for consumer level

articles, not journals Mayo Clinic (www.mayoclinic.com) National Institutes of Health (www.nih.gov) Kaplan University “Center for Health and Wellness”

Search engine (e.g. Bing, Google, Yahoo, http://scholar.google.com/ )

Out of the selection of articles, pick one that interests you

from each of the 5 searches. Make sure that you can understand the content, and it is not something too advanced for you at this time.

Qst 1.  What does it mean to be “literate” about information?

is… a fancy phrase that simply means to decide what information is valid and important in order to complete the task at hand.

Whether it is a project for school or for work, you must know what information is necessary and what information can be trusted to do the job you have to do.

You must learn various technologies and be able to communicate the information to others with your rapidly improving writing skills. In this unit, you will learn more about information literacy.

In the next unit, you will learn about critical thinking, critical reading, and note taking, which is going to help you decide what information is necessary. These units go hand in hand. The good news is that if you learn to master this, you will have as much chance of using this incredible resource to your benefit as anyone else in the world! You will be able to compete in the same race as the most educated and most advanced health care workers.
