TEAM MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Love for food runs in the family for Andy Moy. The new Room Chef at Vee Quiva Hotel & Casino learned the ins and outs of a professional kitchen at a young age from his Grandfather.

“My Grandfather introduced me to the kitchen,” says the new head of Ditka’s

kitchen. “He worked in kitchens for some of the most exclusive restaurants from Hong Kong to London. I definitely began my love affair with cooking through him.”

Another motivating factor, according to Chef Moy, was a strong desire to try something besides Chinese food. “My Mom could definitely cook Chinese, but if you asked her for a grilled cheese she was pretty lost.”

Chef Moy’s love of food has taken him into some pretty interesting kitchens in his career. In his previous job he was sent to kitchens for a range of Fortune 500 companies. While there he earned a reputation for creating excellent and eclectic corporate and private menus for executives and employees from Google, Time Warner, Nike, REI and more.

Chef Moy is looking forward to putting together unforgettable dining experiences for guests at Ditka’s. His favorite menu item, “the Kick-Ass Paddle

Steak for sure,” says Andy. “The bone-in rib eye cut has so much flavor and the way we cook it here is incredible. We use our special broilers to sear the meat and lock in the flavor.”

If you meet Chef Andy be sure to ask him about his favorite restaurant (other than Ditka’s, of course). Sic Gack in Queens, New York is a can’t miss spot for our new chef when he travels to the Big Apple and based on his description it’s one unique restaurant.
