PleaseensurethattheinstallerhasfullycompletedtheBenchmarkChecklistinthecentrepagesoftheinstallationinstructionssuppliedwiththeproductandthatyouhavesignedittosaythatyouhavereceivedafullandclearexplanationofitsoperation.TheinstallerislegallyrequiredtocompleteacommissioningchecklistasameansofcomplyingwiththeappropriateBuildingRegulations(EnglandandWales).

AllinstallationsmustbenotifiedtoLocalAreaBuildingControleitherdirectlyorthroughaCompetentPersonsScheme.ABuildingRegulationsComplianceCertificatewillthenbeissuedtothecustomerwhoshould,onreceipt,writetheNotificationNumberontheBenchmarkChecklist.

Thesystemenhancestherecuperatedenergysothatitcanbeutilizedbytraditionalheating(heatingfloorand/orlow-temperatureradiators).

Installationandcommissioningoftheapplianceshouldonlybecarriedoutbyacompetentperson.Theyareresponsiblefortheinstallationandthecommissioninginaccordancewithstandardsinforce.

Youshouldalsoconsultacompetentpersonformaintenanceandrepairoftheapplianceaswellasforanyadjustmentnecessary.

4.2 Refrigerating fluid

Therefrigerantfluidcontainsgasesthat,whenreleasedintotheatmosphere,mayaffecttheenvironmentbydepletingtheozonelayer,contributingtothegreenhouseeffectandanincreaseintemperature.Theriskofleakagecannotbeexcludedfordevicesintendedtooperateformanyyearsandsubjecttotheeffectsoftheenvironment.

TheGlobalWarmingPotential(GWP)iscomposed,ononehand,ofindirectcarbondioxide(CO2)emissionsoriginatingfromtheenergyconsumedbytheinstallations,andontheotherhand,ofdirectemissionsofrefrigerantgasresultantfromleaksintheinstallations.

TheGlobalWarmingPotential(GWP)isasimplemeansbywhichtocomparethedifferentgreenhousegasemissionsthataffecttheclimatesystem.

Thecoloursofthreecoreflexiblecableare,blue-neutral,brown-live,greenandyellow-earth.

4.3.2 Testing and Certification

Thisapplianceiscertificatedforperformanceandsafetyinuse.

Itisimportantthatnoalterationismadetotheapplianceunlessapproved,inwriting,byGlow-worm.

AnyalterationnotapprovedbyGlow-worm,couldinvalidatethecertification,appliancewarrantyandmayalsoinfringethecurrentissueofthestatutoryrequirements.

5 Guarantee / Responsibility

5.1 Detailed guarantee

ThankyouforinstallinganewGlow-wormapplianceinyourhome.

Glow-wormappliancesaremanufacturedtotheveryhigheststandardsowearepleasedtoofferourcustomersaComprehensiveGuarantee.

Thisproductisguaranteedfor24monthsfromthedateofinstallationor30monthsfromthedateofmanufacture,whicheveristheshorter,forpartsandlabour.

Thesecondyearofthepartsguarantee,fromthebeginningofthe13thmonthonwardsafterinstallationormanufacture,isconditionalupontheheatpumphavingbeenservicedbyacompetentpersonapprovedatthetimebytheHealthandSafetyExecutive,inaccordancewiththemanufacturer’srecommendations.Westronglyrecommendregularservicingofyourappliance,butwheretheconditionisnotmet,anychargeablesparepartsorcomponentsissuedwithintheapplicableguaranteeperiodstillbenefitfroma12monthwarrantyfromthedateofissuebythemanufacturer.

5.2 Appliance use / manufacturer responsibility

Servicing/maintenanceshouldbecarriedoutbyacompetentperson approvedatthetimebytheHealthandSafetyExecutive,inaccordancewiththerulesinforceinthecountriesofdestination.

bThe guarantee is applicable on the condition that:

Undernormaluseandconditions,therefrigerantisnotdangerous.

Degassingrefrigerantintotheatmosphereisprohibited,exceptwhennecessarytoensurepersonalsafety.

Whentheunitisstartedorstopped,acrackingnoisemaybeheard.Thisnoiseisgeneratedasaresultoftheexpandingorcontractingofthehousingcausedbychangesintemperatureofthedifferentmaterialsandisquitenormal.

Whenthesystemisinoperationahummingmaybeheard.Thisnoiseisgeneratedwhentheunitdefrostsinheatingmodeandiscausedbythereversaloftherefrigerantflow.

Emitsmist Inwinterandduringthedefrostingperiod,acloudofmistmaybeproducedintheoutdoorunit;thisisduetotheheatmeltingtheicewhichhasformed.

Otherdefects - ContactyourInstallation/ServicingcompanyorGlow-wormService.

• Ifaftercarryingoutthisbasicadviceandyourappliancestilldoesnotwork,leaveitturnedoffandcontactyourcompetentperson.

9 Appliance safety devices

10 Appliance maintenance and servicing

Therefrigerantfluidcontainsgasesthat,whenreleasedintotheatmosphere,mayaffecttheenvironmentbydepletingtheozonelayer,contributingtothegreenhouseeffectandanincreaseintemperature.Theriskofleakagecannotbeexcludedfordevicesintendedtooperateformanyyearsandsubjecttotheeffectsoftheenvironment.

ForyoursafetyandinaccordancewiththesectionR543-76andthefollowingsectionoftheenvironmentalcode,anymaintenanceandrepairoperationstobecarriedoutonyourapplianceandrequiringworktobeeffectedontherefrigerantcircuit,checksontheappliance’sairtightness,dismantling,therecoveryandloadingofrefrigerantsand,ingeneral,anyoperationsperformedontheappliancerequiringthehandlingofrefrigerants,shouldbeperformedbyaprofessionalholdingacorrespondingcertificateofcompetenceasissuedbyanauthorisedauthority.

Byfailingtoobservetheabove,andnotwithstandingtheriskstosafetyandyourownresponsibilityintheeventofnoncompliance,youriskabeingsubjecttoafine.

10.1 Cleaning

eBefore cleaning turn the appliance off.

• Theappliancecasingcanbecleanedusingamildliquiddetergentwithadampcloth,thenadryclothtopolish.

iDo not use any form of abrasive or solvent cleaner as you may damage the paintwork.
