Why is history important to study…or…why should it matter?
Ah, c’mon, history doesn’t matter to me you say…
…oh really?
The smallest decision can change the world.
That is what history is all about.
Fine, but I’m only in 10th grade, I can’t change the world.
Sure you can. But even if you don’t, how do you know if you don’t even try?
Luckily, history can be fun.That’s because history is all about the story.
Hollywood loves
history!
Well, what if I don’t like movies, I only like video
games.
Video games love history too!
Everyone loves a good story!
Ok, what about TV?
• Come on this is easy…
• We even get our own channel!
• Is there a math channel? Nope!
• ELA Channel? No way.
• Science? Ok, yes, but…

*What matters? Money, relationships, religion, knowledge, power?
*Do we want to live our lives like Hitler or Gandhi, like Washington or Saddam Hussein?
There is no other subject that you can change so easily.
