Laboratory Facilities Experience

Astra Pharma Research Centre. The facility is divided into three wings: biochemistry and pharmacology laboratories and offices. The biochemistry wing houses a 400 MHz and a 600 MHz Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) LAB, & provides space for a future 800 MHz NMR.

Biotech Research Inst. Canadian National Research Council. Addition of a new two-storey building and mechanical room including 12 laboratory units per floor and 49 variable flow laboratory hoods. Pressure control in the various areas of the building including 100 % outside air supply systems, (50,000 CFM) and a DDC building control system.

Concordia University The pavilion houses 338 research support rooms, including research laboratories, instrumentation and computer rooms, as well as 100 teaching labs, 30 ultramodern classrooms, 270 offices and a greenhouse with panoramic views of the West Island.

IRCM Clinical Research Institute of Montréal: The Basset block’s four floors will include the biomedical laboratories, cold rooms, hydrogenation rooms, culture rooms and meeting rooms. Two multimedia seminar rooms and an atrium will also be at the personnel’s disposal.

Laval University Research Centre including a state-of-the-art laboratory facility for its existing research centre. The 120,000 sq. ft. research centre includes biology & chemical laboratories, animal quarters, surgical rooms and research areas.

The McGill University Health Centre is the first in Canada to combine both genomics and proteomics research. The multidisciplinary structure changed Canadian science and transformed Quebec into one of the top 10 genomics and proteomics research centres in the world.

McMaster University This multi-use research and health sciences teaching centre houses 80,000 sq. ft. of flexible modular laboratories and related support functions. The laboratory concept employs a leading-edge flexible and adaptable laboratory fit-out system with modular ceiling-mounted utility and service distribution bulkheads.

Trent University Research and Development Centre to accommodate DNA research. The facility shall include: Forensic / Robotics and automation / DNA profiling / BSLIII / Aquatic genetics / Cell culture/DNA and tissue bank / Pathogen microbiology.

Year 2007 Project Cost CA$14M

University of Montreal Saint-Hyacinthe Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. This project includes a new adjoining building with lecture and conference rooms, offices, research laboratories, computer laboratories, an auditorium, video-conference room and a new plant dedicated to applied research and process development.

Year 2005 Project Cost CA$57M

University of Montreal Construction of two new pavilions, housing administrative areas and offices, teaching and research laboratories, classrooms, community services, and more. The buildings will offer first-rate facilities for science education and research. The two pavilions are based on the “green building” concept.

Year 2005 Project Cost CA$84M

University of Montreal Gene Therapy Platform: Phase 1 of the project included the retrofit of an existing building to accommodate a new laboratory, clinic, seminar room and offices. The second phase included the addition of one floor with a corporative suite including laboratories and offices, and a new mechanical room (phase 1 see below).
