MET Bhujbal Knowledge City

The MET League of Colleges is a conglomerate of premiere educational institutions, driven by

a single-minded focus on imparting quality education to make students sharp. Established in

1989, with a mission to redefine the system of education, MET is a professionally managed,

multi-disciplinary and multi-faceted oasis of knowledge. The grant of the ISO 9001:2008

certification is an acknowledgement of the institution's capability to deliver professional

education that meets the highest standards of professionalism worldwide.

SAC (Students’ Association of Computers)

SAC – Students’ Association of Computer was an idea, a challenge to create a platform for the

students, by the students and of the students wherein students would come out of the shell to

display their talent, innovation and help them make a cut above the rest.

Established on 25th August 2012, SAC has been creating waves ever since. SAC is committed

in generating, disseminating, and preserving knowledge, and to working with others to bring

this knowledge to bear on the world's great challenges.

SAC in association with CSI Student’s Accredited Wing is dedicated to provide its members

with an education that combines rigorous academic study and the excitement of discovery with

the support and intellectual stimulation of a diverse campus community. We seek to develop in

each member of the SAC the ability and passion to work wisely, creatively, and effectively for

the betterment of humankind.

Functions

Generate awareness about technical know-how & updates on the current technical and

nontechnical scenario.

Conducting various seminars, workshops (in-house faculty as well as industry experts)

throughout the year to enlighten students with the various technologies.

Hosting mega event “METASTORM” which aims at bringing forward various facets of

students’ be it from managing an event, to competing with peers, to marketing oneself in the

industry.

Aggrandize CSR by conducting college level events that aims at helping the less fortunate.

Milestones

Yearly membership of more than 200 students from Computer Engineering Department.

Also work with the CSI (Computer Society of India) Nasik Chapter.

There has been various Technical, Non-Technical, and Cultural Events, workshops, seminars

and CSR activities of which SAC has been an integral part of under the METASTORM

event.

Chief guests include technical experts, business tycoons, dignitaries, socialists, businessmen,

high ranking law enforcement personnel, etc.

MET UTSAV 2017 MET’s UTSAV- A College gathering which is among the highest rated cultural event among all

the events of Nashik. Every year we at MET’s BKC, Institute of Engineering, SAC and

other forums of IOE organizes the UTSAV in the month of January for 3 days and there is

Grand Finale Night on 4th day where we celebrate the youth’s talent from all the Institutes’

students’. More than 10000 people acknowledges event every year. It truly a grand platform for

all the students of all the Institutes of MET BKC, Nashik-03. We had organized it during 18th

January - 20th January 2017. Every year UTSAV is sponsored by various Industries and

organizations of in and around Nashik.

Inauguration Ceremony:

UTSAV’17 was inaugurated with the hands of Mr Yajuvendra Kumar Sir – A Socialits

from an NGO also produced the quality officers through the guidance of MPSC and

UPSC exams, Mrs. Shefali Bhujbal, Trustee, Dr. V. P. Wani (Prinicpal) and HODs and

HOIs of different Institutes. The ceremony started with Ganesh Vandan presenting a beautiful

dance on nice song of Lord Ganesha. On the auspicious occasion of Inauguration Ceremony

students of various departments had organized a common beautiful act on “Misconception and

misbelief in India” The act was really admirable and a lesson to all the people who belong to

India. In the act students described the event where a foreigner visits our country and how our

Indian guide guides him.

These session were really great by which student also got the golden opportunity to have words

with such eminent personalities. The main theme of the UTSAV was “” Where we celebrated

in campus with 3 different days as “Traditional Day, Superheroes Day and Back to School

Day. SAC students actively participated in UTSAV with organization and participation in

various events under UTSAV’17. SAC President Mr. Sagar Jambhale has actively

participated in organizing team It is another golden opportunity to our students to showcase

and nurture the vital skills like Event Management, Leadership, Coordination, Unity, Stress

Management, Cooperativeness, and Marketing etc

Events: GARBA: It was fun and full of entertainment event for the campus where all the staff and students had

actively participated at large. This workshop was based on the techniques of doing GARBA in

groups. This is basically the main dance form of Gujarati people who enjoy it during the

“Navratri Festival”. Various different techniques were enjoyed by the audience and they

executed them with full of their heart. A huge crowd had responded and enjoyed the event to

the fullest.

FILM MAKING: This event was conducted by Mr. Vinod Nath on 18th January 2017 at IOM Seminar hall. The

speaker had given the in depth knowledge about the film making and opportunities in the same.

Many students and staff has taken the advantage of the workshop and took the guidance about

entering in the film making area. Some of the students did personal interaction with the speaker

after the workshop about how to make career in the same. Following are the glimpses of the

CLAY – GANPATI IDOL MAKING: This was one of the beautiful events during the UTSAV 2017. The resource person Prof.

Sheetal Ujjainkar conducted the workshop on how to make the Ganpati Idols from clay with

beautiful techniques. She had shown the various techniques to develop the beautiful Ganpati

Idols from clay. She has also guided the audience by giving them practical knowledge about

how to make the Idols using clay in short period of time. Really it was the awesome experience

for all the students and staff as they got something new to learn apart from the academics.

CYBER SECURITY: The workshop was based on the Cyber Security wherein the speakers given the knowledge

about what the cyber-attack actually is, how it hampers the private data over social network and

how to secure ourselves from cyber-attacks which are likely to happen daily now a days. Also

the speakers imparted students the various techniques to secure their data over social networks

like whatsapp, hike, facebook, twitter etc. The event was delivered by in house faculties Prof.

Nitin Ahire and Prof. Milind Kadlag, E&TC dept. on 18th Jan 2017.

TECHNOFEST:

This event is organized every year by Dept. of ENTC Engg. It is basically for the technocrats

who showcase their talent by exhibiting their technical projects and participate in the

competition. Students from all over the campus participated and showcased their talent and

tested their technical skills.

MET’s GOT TALENT:

Likewise every year, this year also college has organized a talent hunt show named as

“MET’s Got Talent”. It was an in house activity. It has provided a grand platform and a

wonderful upportunity for every student to explore their hidden talents. Students from various

institutes had participated actively in the competition. They performed outstanding acts like

Singing, Dance, Mimicry, Shayari, Poems, One-Act-Plays etc. This event has marked a

memorable place in everyone’s heart. This event was organized and conducted by Prof.

Zafar Khan (IOM) and was held at Amphitheater.

SPORTS COMPETITION: Every year sports competitions were organized by the Sports Dept. of IOE. This year too they

had organized various sports competitions but among all lawns cricket had received an over-

whelming response. This event was held on BKC Lawns and all the students of all the

Institutes participated with various teams. Event was inaugurated by Mr. Pardeshi – HR

Manager , MET, BKC, Mr, Deore – Auditor, MET,BKC , Mr. Amol Pawar and the sports

faculty of MET,BKC. Also the staff of all the departments of IOE had participated in the event

and firstly all matches were held among staff members. It was really an enjoyable and

enthusiastic event for the campus. It was held on BKC Lawns near Canteen.

ZONKERS:

This event was conducted opposite to main lobby and organized by Mr. Ravindra Manke.

This was In-house activity. In this event we organize ‘Go Cart Racing’. It was full of

entertainment. It was mini biker event. Many students had participated in this event. We got

an enthusiastic response for this event. This event was conducted on 18th of January 2017.

Different kinds of biker invited for the event with their different bikes. The event was

phenomenon and enlighten the whole campus with the riders riding throughout the campus.

HUM FOODIE HAI Then was the time for one of the most awaited and most favourite amongst all the events.

The mouthwatering happiness. Delicious mejwanis of various tasty food items were served

to taste. Everyone really enjoyed and loved each of the food items. An appreciable mob

rushed towards these counters and enjoyed it.

MODELLING SHOW

It was full of entertainment event which received quite appreciable number of

participations. It had provided great platform for the students who had modeling skills.

Resource person for this event was Mr. Santosh Kharat. It was arranged at IOT-P Seminar

Hall on 19th January 2017 between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm. We received great response for

this event. Many students showcased their modelling talent in front of eminent judges. The

event was awesome with great participation.

HEALTH CHECKUP

This activity was conducted for all students and staff. This activity was held at IOP Seminar

Hall on 19th January 2017 between 9:30 am and 1:30 pm. The Resource persons for this

activity was Dr. Sagar More and Dr. Amol Dange. All students and staff had participated in

this activity. All the faculties and students took the benefits of the workshop by monitoring

their health through various tests and checkup by doctors. This was one of the best events

during UTSAV 2017. As due to daily fast life we never gets the time to look after our health

so this workshop was a golden opportunity for those people. We got a huge response for the

same.

PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT

Having knowledge makes us ‘literate’ but having knowledge along with morals of

personality development makes us ‘EDUCATED’. With the same initiative a workshop

was arranged on Personality development. It was In-house activity. It was arranged at IOP

Seminar Hall on 19th January 2017 at 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Many Students had participated in

this workshop. We received an appreciable response for this event. Speaker has imparted

the knowledge about how maintain the great personality with great ethics.

SULTAN-E-DANGAL This wonderful event included a self-defense workshop. It was conducted between 10am to

12pm at the amphitheater during the days of utsav. It is the need of an hour and an

interesting issue all over and that was justified by a huge mob seen actively participating in

the event. The experience was excellent and worth-learning. Various techniques are taught

by the speaker about self-defense for boys as well as girls.

ACTING WORKSHOP

Acting workshop was arranged for all the students and staff. The Resource person for the

Workshop was Mr. Atul Narang who is the renowned choreographer of Nashik He was been

doing choreography for all the dances in UTSAV every year. He has imparted the

knowledge about acting field and the opportunities in the same. Also he had given guidance

on how to make a bright career in acting. It was held at IOM Seminar Hall. The workshop

was conducted on 19th January 2017 at 11.00 am to 1.00 pm. We received great response for

this workshop as many students participated in the workshop.

SHORT FILM FESTIVAL

Many students participated in Short film festival. They had made good short films. It was

held at IOT-P Seminar Hall on 19th January 2017 at 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm. Resource person

for this event was Mr. Vinod Nath. We received great response for this activity. Audience

got a knowledge about various things through this festival.

DANCE WORKSHOP:

Seeing the overwhelming and enthusiastic response of the previous year, this year also the

workshop on “Zumba Fitness Dance “was organized during UTSAV’17. It was a in

house activity. This was quiet different and unique event addressed by huge crowd .

The event was mainly held to provide Dance Fitness Classes which were fun ,

energetic and also amazing. This event has provided the unique and most useful dance

techniques to maintain overall health without much exercise.

It is really a kind of fun exercise which one can do, enjoy and can keep himself/herself

physically fit. This event was addressed by various staff members and students from

all the Institutes who had participated and also enjoyed it a lot. It was organized in

AMPHI THEATRE. The event was conducted by Mr. Rohan Bhalerao on 19th Jan

2017.

ZUMBA Fitness Dance Workshop during UTSAV 2017

ROCK SHOW: It was an awesome event for everyone and yes of course one of the talk of the MET

shows called ROCK SHOW. Where we use to invite various bands from in and around

nashik and provided a platform to showcase their talent and to entertain the people at fullest.

Every year UTSAV celebrates youth with ROCK SHOW. This year we invited a local

amazing bands from nashik region to perform in front of MET people A huge crowd has

witnessed the event with more enthusiasm. This was the in-house activity held at

Amphitheater on 19th Jan 2017.

CHALK CARVING

This is the most creative activity during UTSAV’17. Chalk carving means carving on chalk

to make objects. The resource person for this event was Vihang Chauhan. This event was

held at IOP Seminar Hall on 19th January 2017 at 11.00 am to 1.00 pm. Many Students

participated and enjoyed learning this fine art.

TREASURE HUNT

Treasure Hunt is the game with groups who try to find hidden objects or places by

following a series of clues. We arrange this game every year for students. Many groups of

students participated for this game. It was held at BKC Lawn on 19th January 2017. It was

In-house activity. We received a great response for this game.

MINI MILITIA

Mini Militia is 2D shooter mobile game. We arranged competition on this game. It was In-

house activity for a whole day. It was held In-front of Canteen on 19th January 2017. We

received a great response for this event.

CYCLOTHON: This is again the most beautiful event during UTSAV’17. A cycling competition

called “CYCLOTHON” organized to encourage the cycle lover and other people in this

today’s automotive world. Students and staff from overall campus participated in the event.

The event was sponsored by Singh Cycles Nashik who has delivered a grand prize of

“Geared Cycle” to the First Winner. It was held on the track behind canteen. A huge

response we got from the competition. The main aim of organizing the event was to motivate

people to do the best exercise of cycling by avoiding pollution.

MUSIC WAR:

DJ music was arranged for all the audience to have fun with free dance style. This event was

very enjoyable and enthusiastic for all the youth of the campus. All the students and staff had

actively participated and enjoyed the dance floor to fullest with the charming music at all the

FUN FAIR: This was mainly the Fair like area where we can enjoy food on various

stalls hosted by students of all the departments of all the Institutes of METBKC and

also can enjoy various small games which were also hosted on stalls by the

students. We had also kept the prizes for winners of games. Almost all the students and

staff had enjoyed this event a lot. The event was organized by Miss. Puja Kulthe near

MET BKC Canteen.

Fun Fair during UTSAV 2017

STAFF ENTERTAINMENT: This is the main event organized by Trust Office Department exclusively

for all the Staff of all the Institutes like Engineering , Pharmacy ,Polytechnic , and

MBA. This is another soft corner for all the Staff members where on this one day

every Staff enjoys themselves by considering only the family member of MET BKC

and not teacher. So we can say its grand platform for all the teachers to enjoy and

also to showcase their hidden and extracurricular talents. It was organized in AMPHI

THEATRE. Every year we organize the entertainment program especially for staff as they

should get some relief from their daily teaching life and should get a platform to showcase

their co-curricular hidden talent.

GRAND CULTURAL NIGHT:

A Grand Finale rather a Grand Cultural Night hosted by MET BKC for all the

students and staff to showcase their cultural talent like Singing, Dancing, Mimicry, Drama,

Anchoring, Instrument Playing etc. On the occasion of UTSAV this grand night is arranged

every year on the last day of UTSAV. This night gets acknowledged by various talented,

versatile personalities from Bollywood some of them atre namely,Mr. Aftab Shivdasani,

Mr. Anil Kapoor, Mr. Sonu Nigam, Miss Prachi Desai, Mr. Irfan Khan, Mr. Sunil

Shetty, Mr, Shaknar Mahadevan, Miss Lata Mageshakar, etc. and many more

Bollywood personalities every year.

Every year MET BKC invites such great personalities of Bollywood and that is main

attraction of the cultural night. This grand finale night is also acknowledged by the most

awaited MET RATNA AWARDS which were being delivered to the topper students from

various streams like Engineering, Polytechnic, Pharmacy and Management (MBA) by the

hands of chief guest and honorable trustees of the MET BKC Campus.

Seminar on “C++ Programming and Data Structures

Implementation”:

SAC had organized a career guidance seminar on “How to crack GATE, IES and PSUs”. This

seminar was organized on 15th Feb 2017 at SE Class room for all SE students of Computer

and IT. The seminar was conducted by the eminent personnel of “Golden Dreams Software

Solutions Nashik. which is the leading Institute for training on various computer languages

and development. They addressed students with importance of C++ language and its effective

use for implementing the data structures. They also highlighted the basic concepts of C++

which students generally don’t have idea about like memory leakage problems handling,

dangling pointers, memory registers, data storage and manipulation, name mangling

concepts and many more. The students gained a valuable inputs for their academic as well as

for the recruitment process.

Workshop on C++ Programming & Data Structures Implementation

Seminar on “Career Guidance to Study Abroad”:

SAC had organized a career guidance seminar on “Study at Abroad” on 14th March 2017. The

Seminar was delivered by Mrs. Smita Bhmare – Director, Step Ahead Institute Nashik. She

has given the insights about the importance of higher education at abroad and also provided

the ways of applying for the same. Ma’am has given the detailed knowledge about the various

exam which students can appear for getting their higher education. She has explained about

the syllabus of the exams like GRE, TOEFEL, GMAT etc their test

Appreciation Ceremony 2017 Every year SAC organizes various activities throughout the year. In order to motivate to

students to develop further in technical and non-technical area, we at Dept. of Computer

Engineering and SAC provides the platform to praise them and to give recognition for their

devoted work in organizing the various activities. We call it an “Appreciation Ceremony”.

This year also we had organized an Appreciation Ceremony for all the students of Computer

Engineering. The ceremony was held on 1st April 2017. Wherein we praised various students

of the SAC committee and other student coordinators who have contributed in various events

of the department and given them appreciation certificates, trophies and appreciation letters a

token of appreciation towards their valuable work. We ended the ceremony with snacks for all

the awardees and hoping for further improved active participation in next year’s departmental

and college level events.
