Ultimately, the application of participatory technology tools is important to the extent that these tools are
necessary for meeting the evolving needs of our communities. Participants will learn how and why they
need to be involved in their community spaces; and they will gain the confidence, creativity and knowledge to apply Web technologies to meet their users' needs. The course,
therefore, is not targeted at simply learning skills for using a static set of tools. These tools will be used to help
libraries lead and to connect.
