InordertoconnecttheTransducerpowercabletothepowersupplyoutsidethemagnetroom,youneedtouseaDB‐9filterprovidedwiththesystem.Makesuretoconnectthetwometerlongcabletoboththepowersupplyandpenetrationpanelandconnectthe10meterlongcabletoboththepenetrationpanelandtheTransducer.GEFilterPanelPlate:PlugtheFemale9Pin“D”endofthecablethathasbeenrunthroughwiththefiberopticsfromtheControlroomtotheEquipmentroom.Connectthecable’sFemaleendtotheJ‐51plugfoundintheGEFilterPanel

PatientSetup
MakesureallcableshavebeenconnectedsecurelyintotheTransducerandthatthecomponentsdonotimpedewalkways.EnsurethattheTransducerisnotplaceddirectlyinfrontofthemagnetboreordirectlyunderthebed.Beforeplacingtheheadsetonthepatient,makesurethatthetechnologistmicrophonevolumehasbeensettoacomfortablelevelforthepatient.Placetheaudioheadsetoverthepatient’searsandadjusttheheadband.Ifnecessary,positiontheheadsetmicrophoneaboutonecm.awayfromthepatient’smouth.
Operation
Whenoperatingnormally,thelogolightsontheTransducerarerotatingandthesidesoftheControllerareblue.However,aftertwotothreehoursofnon‐operation,thesystemgoesintoaSLEEPmodeandthesystemappearstobeturnedoff.Towakeupthesystem,justpressdownonceontheTALKbuttonoftheTechnologistRemoteControlandwaitforthesystemtosynchronizecompletely.Remembertoalwayscommunicatewiththepatienttoadjusttheheadsetaudiovolume.Alwaysstartatalowsettingprogressivelytoahighersettinguntilthepatientcanhearyouclearly.Readthestereosystemusermanualforitsoperation.Belowisanillustrationhowtoconnectthecontrolroomcomponents:

SystemTroubleshooting
Note:WhendisconnectingpowertotheController,alwaysdisconnecttheACpowercordthatconnectsintotheControllerPowerSupply.NeverdisconnecttheDCcableconnectorfromtheController.Tore‐connectpowertotheTransducer,justre‐connecttheACpowercord.
Symptom Verify
NoSynchronization ThefiberopticsareintherightpositionontheControllerandTransducer.
NoAudio Checkthemini‐stereocableproperlyconnectedontheControllerinput.VerifytheheadsetisproperlyseatedintheTransducer.
NoMicrophone OntheTechnologistRemoteControl,checkcommmodeisautoormanual.Checkmicrophonevolumesetting.
SystemReboots UnplugthepowersupplyfromtheA/Coutlet.UnplugtheController;turnoffthepowersupplyfortheTransducer.
Ifthesystemhangsup*orfailstorespondtotheTechnologistRemoteControlcommands.
PowerdowntheControllerforapproximately10secondsandthenpowerupagain.
Ifthesystemstilldoesnotrespond. Powerdownthecompletesystemforapproximately10seconds,thenpoweruptheControllerfirstintheControlRoom,thenpoweruptheTransducerintheMagnetRoom.WaitforthelogolightstorotateontheTransducerandthenusethesystemnormally.
*SystemHangupiswhenthesystemrefusestofunctionnormally.
