In both diagrams, position A is best practice while

B is suitable.

Prepare the pipe and fittingsaccordingly. Lubricate the olives and

assemble the valves on the pipe, hand tighten.

Installation

Loosely secure the MagnaCleanProfessional canister to the valves.Grip the MagnaClean canister andtighten the compression fittings

being careful not to over tighten.

Loosen off the valve flange nutsand insert the rubber washers

provided. Thoroughly tighten theflange nuts. Do not over tighten.

Refill the heating system.

Run the central heating systemwhile checking for leaks. Attachthe self-adhesive MagnaCleanlabel to the boiler indicatingthe date of installation, serialnumber and location of the

filter. If necessary, service thefilter before leaving the

premises. The MagnaCleanProfessional lid spanner and

valve spanner can be left withthe customer.

MagnaClean® Professional issuitable for all central heatingsystems and can be fitted anywhereon the main circuit. However, inorder to achieve the best protectionfor the boiler, it is recommendedthat the MagnaClean Professionalis fitted after the last radiatorbefore the boiler. In determining asuitable location for installation, itis important to ensure you allowadequate access for servicing.

The following instructions aredesigned to assist engineers in thesafe and effective installation andservicing of ADEY’s MagnaCleanProfessional and should befollowed at all times. Any queriesarising from either installation orservicing should be directed to your supervisor or ADEY direct on 01242 233702.

Drain the central heating system orplug-off feed and expansion tankand release the system pressure.

Measure and mark a 105mm sectionfor a 22mm unit and a 190mmsection for a 28mm unit whenmaking the connections with

elbows as shown. When installing below a boiler or

other object, allow 250mmclearance from the top of the

canister to beneath the object, toenable the lid assembly to beremoved when servicing. This

applies to both 22mm and 28mmMagnaClean Professional canisters.

Combi/Sealed system

Using a suitable cutter, carefullyremove the marked section of pipework to create the correct opening.

Chemical dosing

Open the isolation valves to themarked ON position and

vent/bleed through the Pro-Fill airvent. Protect the surface belowthe canister with a dust sheet or

container to capture any drops ofwater. Run the central heating

system while checking for leaks.Repeat steps 1 - 6 if required.Ensure the filter is thoroughly

clean before leaving the premises.

Replace the lid assembly onto thecanister and close, hand tight. Be

careful not to over tighten.

Wrap paper towelling around thebuild-up of sludge on the plasticsheath. Place lid assembly over abucket and remove the plastic

sheath from the magnet, removethe sludge then rinse clean. Replace

the sheath over the magnet.

Remove the complete lid assemblyfrom the MagnaClean Professional. Turn the lid assembly upside downin order that the underside of the

lid acts as a drip tray.

Using the MagnaClean Professionallid spanner, carefully unscrew

the lid.

Important – Before commencingany servicing work, turn off theelectrical supply to the boiler.

Turn off both isolation valves tothe marked OFF position.

Loosen the air vent to releaseinternal pressure. When

venting, protect the surfacebelow the canister with a dustsheet or container to capture

any drops of water.

Replace the Pro-Fill air vent. Allow the system to circulate for

30 seconds. Open the Pro-Fill screw two turns and back

flush until clear.

Wait for five seconds beforeremoving the adaptor.

The Pro-Fill air vent will accept all market-leading chemicals in either

liquid or concentrate form.

With a standard radiator keyremove the Pro-Fill air vent.

The built-in, one-way valve willprevent water from escaping.Attach chemical adapter and

feed in chemical.

We live in an age of high efficiencyboilers, but for many years, littleattention has been given to thecleanliness of central heating systems. The majority of systems suffer from blackiron oxide contamination. This createsthick sludge deposits which are the resultof corrosion taking place within radiatorsand other metallic components. The oxide particles range from very largeto sub-micron in size with the latterleaching into the system watercontinuously during use. These particlesbond to all components often causingpremature failure of pumps and valves. When they contaminate the boiler heatexchanger and pipe work, it results in adramatic loss of efficiency. It is widely recognised that even aminimal build-up results in a serious dropin boiler efficiency. MagnaCleanProfessional has been carefully designedto remove these particles fromsuspension while at the same timeallowing a 100% flow rate through the system.

Installation is simple with each isolationvalve rotating through 360 degrees andtherefore supporting any number oflocation options. These valves have beenspecifically designed for use withMagnaClean Professional and have highquality PTFE and EDPM seals.

An added advantage for installers is thePro-Fill air vent built in to the lid. Thisspecial vent incorporates a unique, one-way valve, allowing the installer to injectcorrosion inhibitor chemicals directly intothe MagnaClean Professional without theneed to isolate any part of the system.Just remove the air vent screw, inject thechemical and replace the air vent screw. It’s that simple.

The MagnaClean Professional filterprovides years of protection maintainingthe high efficiency of central heatingsystems. It also results in financial benefitand increased reliability.

The product is backed by a two-yearlimited guarantee.

Developed by independent heating specialists ADEY Professional HeatingSolutions, the MagnaClean Professional filter has been specifically designed

for the efficient maintenance of central heating systems.
