Dynamic Catholic, Alive! Children of a Merciful God The readings this week are so beautiful and simple. They remind us that we are children of almighty God and because of this shared patrimony, all we have we must be willing to share with others. All is gift. One of the best ways to love God and to make a return for His gifts is to evangelize through works of mercy, both spiritual and corporal. When we understand that we are begotten by God as His adopted sons and daughters, we conquer the world, as St. John tells us. When we remember our identity as children of God, we see Him in our brothers and sisters. We are impelled to bring the joy of the Gospel to our fellow men in service and charity. Today, we also remember the great mercy of God as revealed to St. Faustina. Let us always return to this in!inite mercy our perfect Father offers to us and share it with those we meet, learning from our mistakes and sins and seeking to live as more obedient and loving children. archstl.org/dynamic

EVERYDAY STEWARDSHIP

Recognize God in your Ordinary Moments When I was younger and growing up in Alexandria, VA, I remember one year it actually snowed on Easter. It was crazy to see it that late in the year. We got up and dressed in our best spring clothes so we could venture into the snow on our way to Easter Mass. I remember thinking that the day did not feel much like Easter. It was hard to really get into the mood of God making all things new on a day so cold and full of !lurries. If I am honest, I think we rushed home after Mass just so we could get on warm pajamas and just watch TV for the rest of the day, snuggled up on the couch with blankets. It might as well have been a Sunday in January.

This year the odds are against it snowing on Easter where I live here in North Carolina. However, for far too many it might as well snow. To them, Easter has nothing to do with the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, new life, or anything of the sort. It is just another Sunday. Some of them don't care and never think of Jesus or God on any Sunday of the year. But for others, it will not feel like Easter because they have been forgotten. On this day they will sit at home, just like they sit every single day of their lives. They might be poor, elderly, disabled, or simply alone. On this day, there is no resurrection cele-bration because they have no real experience of the joy of life.

This is where good Everyday Stewards can make a dif-ference. In the midst of buying candy and decorating eggs for baskets and buying new clothes to wear to East-er Mass, !ind someone who needs to experience the power of Easter. Don't tell them Jesus rose from them, but show them. Instead of the cold of isolation, bring to them the warmth of new life. —Tracy Earl Welliver, MTS

STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION “The community of believers was of one heart and mind,

and no one claimed that any of his possessions was his

own...”– ACTS 4:32

All that we are and all that we have is a gift from God! Think of your family, your friends, your talents, your abilities and your money – these are all gifts from God! We aren’t really owners of anything, we are merely “stewards” of the gifts God has blessed us with.

NEW at St. Patrick! The Helping Hands Meal Train

ministry was formed from a desire to use a practical skill- cooking- to serve the Body of Christ. The mission of the Meal Train Ministry is to supply prepared meals to those in the St. Patrick family who need support during an illness, bringing home a new baby, recovery from surgery, or other special circumstances.

This ministry will be so easy! You will receive an email and you can choose to sign up to bring a meal when it is convenient for you. If it is not convenient for you to sign up, no problem. 6,822 CANS COLLECTED

Thank you from St. Patrick Parish, Knights of Columbus #10154, and St. Vincent de Paul Society food pantry. We collected 6,182 pounds of food! As a result of our efforts, Supreme will issue to our council a reimburse-ment of $500, which will be donated to our St. Vincent de Paul food pantry. This successful program was achieved through no cost to our council except for volunteer hours.

God bless you for your compassion for those in need.

This weekend kicks off the Annual Catholic Appeal (ACA). Your participation, no matter how small – even a

dollar, will help. Why even a dollar? Each year our parish applies for a Viability Grant from the Archdiocese

funded by the ACA. Between 2014 and 2016, we were awarded $130,000 to help us pay down our debt.

These factors all help us when we are writing for the grant proposal:

ü Meeting our ACA Goal

ü % of Family Participation

ü Increased Stewardship Efforts

This is why even a small gift helps us, as it bolsters our percentage of participation.

Did you know 91 cents of every dollar goes back into the community and the ACA helps many organizations

and programs in our community? These ministries and more are supported by the ACA:

· Archdiocesan Seminary

· Stewardship and Development Support for Parishes, Schools and Agencies

· Vocation Programs

· Parish Emergency Assistance Fund

· Elementary Teachers Educational Fund

· Catholic Youth Apostolate

· Catholic Charities

· Respect Life Apostolate

· Sts. Joachim and Ann Care Service

· Parish Food Pantries

· Elementary School Assistance

· Special Education

· Permanent Diaconate

If you want more information about the Annual Catholic Appeal, please call the parish of!ice or visit our

website, www.stpatrickwentzville.org/aca.

Please stop by the social hall after any Mass on April 8, 15, or 22 to !ill out your pledge card.
