Potentate’s Message

by Robert Warner

by Jon Kinney, Potentate

Thank you, nobles, for your vote of confidence at the annual elections in December. I am humbled to have been elected and installed as the 110th Potentate of Aladdin Shriners. My thanks go to Oriental Guide Art Wilson (and Lady Kim), chief of staff and staff as well as their ladies and the office staff for all their hard work that made the Aladdin Shrine Leadership Seminar and Installation a success.

What an honor it was when my lady and I were announced to enter the ballroom and she pulled away from me. I was taken by the arms by a surprise escort of Sergeant Tony Chamberlain representing the Circleville Police Department from which I retired and Pickaway County Sheriff Robert Radcliff with whom I serve as a reserve deputy sheriff. Both were in dress uniform and escorted me through two ranks of my fellow Provost Unit members to the stage. It was night I will always remember!

I grew up with the Shrine. My father was a member of the Aladdin Shrine Band for 46 years. In 1966 my mother, Lee, served as High Priestess of Thea Court, Ladies Oriental Shrine. This journey began for my Lady Cindy and me in 2011 when I was appointed to the Divan by my Shrine pappy, Ill. Sir Steve Hathaway, PP. What an amazing experience it has been during the last six years. We have met many members of Aladdin Shrine and visited Shrine clubs and units throughout Aladdinland that we probably would not have ever had the opportunity to experience otherwise.

Our theme this year consists of four single words each with a distinct meaning:

Fun and Fellowship I believe these two words are intertwined. Where do you find fun without good fellowship and where do you have good fellowship that doesn’t

involve good fun? Our Shrine was founded 147 years ago by brother Masons looking for an outlet to enjoy fun and enhance the fellowship they enjoyed with their brothers. It is that same relationship we seek today.

FamilyAs we learned early in our Masonic teachings, God, family, our necessary vocation, and our Masonic fraternity are our priorities in life. We know

that the support of our ladies is critical to our success and the inclusion of our families in Shrine activities strengthens both our duties to our families and our service to the Shrine.

PurposeOur work to support and provide the means for the “greatest philanthropy in the world,” our Shriners Hospital for Children,® and enables them to

offer world class medical care to children. We are planning many fun and exciting events for the coming year. I encourage you to come and enjoy these activities that many work so hard

to present to you. Cindy and I look forward to fun times and great fellowship in 2017 with the Nobility of Aladdin Shrine and their families. The 2016 New Year’s Eve Party had an attendance of about 180 people even though it had to compete with the Ohio State Buckeye bowl game. The

Street Players returned after a hiatus and provided great dance music for us. The dinner was excellent and a good time was had by all who attended.I am Proud to be a Shriner.

Google, where can I find…I was honored and humbled at being asked by Potentate Jon Kinney to serve as your Aladdin Shrine 2017 Membership Chairman. As I thought of how to serve at this important position in an effective manner, I remembered Steven Covey’s book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Two of the habits, “Think win-win” and “begin with the end in mind” stood out in my mind after accepting the appointment. Starting with “begin with the end in mind,” I set a goal of increasing membership to 4,613 nobles. This will be an increase of one noble at the end of 2017.

A recruitment paradigm shift may be necessary so we don’t let history continually repeat itself. A review of temple records for the last three years (1,095 days) found membership decreased by 1,148 nobles or roughly one noble per day for three years. Suspensions for non-payment of dues claimed 51% and the rest are claimed by the Black Camel. Yes, we lost some nobles for not paying Masonic dues, demitted and/or resigned, but recruitment and restorations more than made up for these nobles. During the last two months of winter when weather is less than pleasant and before we start outside projects, I ask you to search the desert, make a handful of personal phone calls or visits and restore our wayward nobles. These nearly 600 nobles may need a reminder of our purpose and how much fun and fellowship we enjoy as a family. Every day we need to save, not lose, a noble. We can accomplish this together by reaching out and making an effort in recruiting, retaining and restoring nobles. This would be a win-win for all nobles and our temple.

Membership dates to remember: March 25, 2017 is the Masonic one-day class. Aladdin Shriners Ceremonials are scheduled for May 13 and November 4, 2017.

Cincinnati Hospital by Bob Lazenby & D. Dee Mowry, P.P.

The Prophet Jeremiah in chapter 29, verses 10-12 says, “For thus says the Lord: … I will visit you, and I will fulfill my promise and bring you back to this place. (11) For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. (12) Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.”

Jeremiah was a boy of about 12 or 13 when he was called by God to be a prophet. The year was 627 B.C. Jeremiah was reluctant to accept the assignment because of his age but his assignment lasted 40 years.

The verses quoted are significant for us especially those for who subscribe to the “Reformed Tradition.” What this means is that the Supreme Architect of the Universe has a plan for each of us as well as our Aladdin Shrine. Our job is to discern what God’s plan is for each of us. We know that the plan does not call for evil (Verse 12) but it is a good plan, ”to give you a future and a hope.” God’s plan for Aladdin is probably not the same as it for Al Koran, Antioch or any other Shrine. The same applies to each of us. Let us each pray for discernment for God’s plan for each of us and Aladdin. As the new Potentate and Divan look at the coming year, please remember all in your prayers. Remember the old adage, I plan not to fail because I did not fail to plan.

An appropriate prayer would follow along these lines, “Supreme Architect of the Universe, we are asking for your blessings upon our plans and activities for the coming year. We ask for your help in all we do and say. Bring us together in a spirit of love and cooperation always. Amen and So Mote It Be.”

Celebrating 90 Years - Save the Date - June 4, 2017Join us in celebrating our rich history and bright future at our 90th Anniversary Party, June 4 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at 1645 West Eighth Street, Eric PA. There will be something for the whole family with tours of the medical center, entertainment and lots of fun activities for the kids! You won't want to miss it. Read more about the history of Erie’s Shriners Hospital for Children®—Lexington on page eight.1927 - 2017 =

• A lot of love from countless numbers of Shriners over many generations;• Countless numbers of kids whose lives were made better through the care they have received;• A reputation for excellence that is nurtured and assured by countless numbers of

physicians, nurses, therapists and support staff over these many years;• The countless number of roadrunners who help bring our kids and their families to Erie

each and every day. When we say “Love to the Rescue,” it is more than a phrase. It is a way of life; it is a reason for

getting up each day and looking forward to the miracles we can help provide each day. It is part of our DNA as Shriners. It is simply what we do.

There are many different numbers, financial reports and statistics we report to you each month in an effort to let you know how we are doing. All are important but none should bring more pride to Nobles and the loved ones who support and help in this effort than this number —90 years Without the Nobles of Zem-Zem who had a vision and opened the hospital in 1927 and all the Nobles since then for whom this has become a driving passion in their lives, so many kids would not have had the lives they have.

On behalf of all nobles and staff, we can only offer heartfelt thanks! It seems so little in return for so much, but it’s all we can offer. May God bless each of you and yours.

Constants aren’t. – John PetersA couple items of importance:

First – April 22, 2017 is Tabloid Seminar. (Bring your lady.)Next – May 20, 2017 is Tabloid Day.Finally – 2017 “$ a Day” pins are available.

As most of you know, it is necessary to find new and different ways of raising money for our hospitals in Cincinnati, Erie and Lexington. Our membership is changing, getting older and there are fewer Nobles to hit the streets. More large businesses are opting to refuse organizations like ours to solicit in front of their buildings. More cities and towns are refusing permits to have Nobles in the streets. The last two problems reduce the high people volume locations that have brought us so many dollars in years past. Nothing is constant.

We need all your ideas and what you are doing that is new and is working. Please come to Tabloid Seminar and share with your fellow nobles. There should be no pride of ownership as we are all working to the same goal. I firmly believe that all of us are smarter than any of us. Come prove me right.

Tabloid Day is set to avoid conflict with the Memorial Tournament. If you need a different day, just let me know. Not a problem!

Finally, we have received the new 2017 “$ a Day” pins. This year we can take your donation on a credit card if you wish; just call the office. This is a great way to help us add dollars to our totals; please consider it. Also, as you read this we are very close to April 15, tax day. Need a deduction? This will be a tax deduction for 2017; give it some thought.

So why do we do Tabloid? To help our hospitals do things the budgets do not allow. Want an opportunity to see firsthand the great work being done? Visit Lexington on May 21 for the dedication of their brand new hospital. Visit Erie on June 4 and help celebrate 90 years of providing the best in health care to our Shrine kids. You will most likely come home with a new appreciation for what you and your fellow Nobles have accomplished.

The Press-Ganey surveys show that the Cincinnati Hospital is in the top 1% of hospitals in satisfaction ratings. The January meeting of the Board of Governors of the Cincinnati Hospital was the first for the new Chair of the Board Noble Dave Aaronson.

Committee meetings preceded the full board meeting as usual. The research committee’s newest researcher for your hospital is Stacey Schutte. Dr. Schutte received her Ph D from Georgia Tech as well as her Master’s degree in biomedical engineering. Her research interest is in the area of mechanobiology and the mechanical aspects of biology. She has had extensive experience in the study of the mechanics of blood vessels especially in the ob-gyn area while she was at Emery University Medical School. Another researcher in stem cell biology will join the hospital in April. The researches will also have appointments at the University of Cincinnati and the medical school.

Your hospital currently has 241 employees (including research) with a vacancy rate of 6.9%. Year-to-date turnover rate is 16% which is below the state average of 18.1%. The Press-Ganey surveys show that the Cincinnati Hospital is in the top 1% of hospitals in satisfaction ratings. The Joint Commission is rating all Shrine Hospitals with Cincinnati being rated in the very near future. The hospital is competing for a listing as one of the “Top Work Places” in the Cincinnati area. This project is sponsored by the Cincinnati Inquirer newspaper.

Fundraising is going well with $1,264,953.00 raised this past month. Patient census was up 21% this past year. Your two representatives are chairing major committees for the hospital. Bob chairs the credentials committee and Dee chairs the human resources committee.

The next meeting will be February 22.

Golf OutingAre you suffering from a case of the winter blahs? Spring is just around the corner and with it the urge to break out the golf clubs to hit the links. There is no better way to tune up for the summer than by joining Illustrious Sir Jon Kinney and a group of fun loving golfers for Aladdin’s annual golf trip to Santee, SC.

Golf proficiency is not necessary; our golf chairman will devise daily formats for all to enjoy. The trip details are covered in the advertisement on page 6 in this Lamp, so there is no need to cover them in this article. Space on the bus is limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. So get your reservation and deposit in as soon as possible. After that, reservations will be accepted for the drive only package.

Please accept our apologies if you have attempted to make your reservations online with the Local Events website. The multiple options, such as bus/drive, roommate selection, pay-in-full/deposit only, are making programing the site difficult. We are working to get the site to handle the information needed, so bear with us. In the meantime, the old-fashioned method to register will have to suffice. Please use the form in the Lamp or one of the flyers spread around Aladdin.

We are looking forward to see you in Santee, April 17-21.

Shriners Hospital for Children®—Lexington’s New Medical CenterState-of-the-Art Ambulatory Care Center Opens in April - Dedication May 21For 90 years, Shriners Hospitals for Children®—Lexington has brought hope and healing to children and teens at their iconic spot on Richmond Road. In Apri,l 2017 Shriners Hospitals for Children®—Lexington will return to its downtown roots and open as Shriners Hospitals for Children Medical Center. The complex will be located on South Limestone, across from the University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital. The new facility will be a state-of-the-art ambulatory care center, owned and operated by Shriners Hospitals for Children® and designed to better meet the orthopaedic needs of children and their families well into the future.

The quality care children and families have experienced at our facility since 1926 will continue,” said Tony Lewgood, administrator of Shriners Hospitals for Children®—Lexington. “Relocating to the UK HealthCare campus will bring together the pediatric orthopaedic expertise Shriners Hospitals for Children is known for, with the top-rated specialty and subspecialty pediatric care at Kentucky Children's Hospital—a benefit to children with complex conditions. Close proximity to a first-rate medical center will also enhance the education and research aspects of our mission.”

Achievements and advances in orthopaedic care for children have changed since the current Lexington Shriners Hospital was built in 1988. Fewer children require inpatient care while the number of children receiving outpatient care has increased significantly. This year 80 percent of the hospital’s surgical cases have been performed without the child requiring an overnight stay.

The pediatric orthopaedic surgeons currently on staff at the Lexington Shriners Hospital are also on staff at Kentucky Children’s Hospital. Children who require inpatient hospital care will be admitted to Kentucky Children’s Hospital and cared for by the same physicians they are familiar with and trust.

The estimated cost of the new Shriners Hospitals for Children Medical Center ®—Lexington is $47 million. The top two floors of the five-story building will be leased to the University of Kentucky for ophthalmology services. The new Lexington Shriners Hospital facility will include a motion analysis center (one of only three in the state), 20 patient exam rooms, two surgical suites, a rehabilitation gymnasium and therapy rooms, and interactive artwork.

Construction on the new medical center was scheduled to be complete in January. The Lexington Shriners Hospital will begin seeing patients at the new facility on April 17, 2017. The dedication ceremony will be held on May 21, 2017, at 1:00 p.m.

Erie Medical Center Celebrates 90 Years In 2017, Shriners Hospital for Children®—Erie will celebrate 90 years of caring for kids. Indeed, one only has to look at the Erie medical center’s rich past to understand why its staff and patients are looking forward to an exciting future. Where It Began

“Sunshine Valley Camp” is where the Shriners Hospital for Children®—Erie story begins. In the summer of 1924, a cottage was built to treat 12 children to a summer of sunshine, good food and physical therapy. The evolution from a summer cottage for 12 to a state-of-the-art, pediatric orthopaedic healthcare facility, complete with surgical services and a residency program, has spanned a period of 90 years. Those years of birth, growth and change began with a suggestion from a young Erie woman, Elizabeth Milne, which was acted on by local Shriners in the same spirit that prevails among them today.

According to Shriners the success of that first summer greatly enthused the Nobility of Zem Zem Temple and at a Ceremonial held October 30, 1924, Noble Isador Sobel introduced a resolution to “build and maintain a convalescent home for crippled children.” After the temple unanimously adopted the resolution, construction began in October 1925 under the Potentate of Zem Zem Temple, Emil E. Knobloch. A completed Zem Zem Hospital for Crippled Children was dedicated on June 26, 1927. The original hospital had 48 beds and treated children from nine counties in northwestern Pennsylvania. “Those first years saw cases of polio, tuberculosis and hip dislocation,” says Administrator Mary Jane Antoon. “The hospital was especially busy during the early 1950s with as many as 60 polio patients being cared for at one time.”

As the incidence of polio and tuberculosis decreased, the focus of the hospital’s treatment program broadened and shifted to meet the needs of other children in the area. To this end, in 1967 the Zem Zem Hospital joined the national network of Shriners Hospital for Children®.New Era

As medical treatment protocols and the needs of its patients changed, the leadership at Shriners

Hospital for Children®—Erie made the decision to transition the facility from an inpatient hospital to a multi-faceted ambulatory medical center.

On April 24, 2012, while remaining part of the Shriners Hospital for Children® system, the facility became known as the Erie Ambulatory Surgery Center and Outpatient Specialty Care Center. “ The Erie medical center is the first facility in the Shriners Hospital for Children® system to undergo this transformation and is serving as a model for other Shriners hospitals that will be making this same transition in the next few years,” Antoon explains.

Shriners Hospital for Children®—Erie Ambulatory Surgery Center and Out-patient Specialty Care Center continues to provide the best pediatric orthopaedic/neuromuscular medical care available. Currently, the medical center serves thousands of children from six states (New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Maryland and Michigan) and the Province of Ontario with medical services delivered regardless of the family’s ability to pay. Fourteen Shrine temples are affiliated with and support Erie Shriners Medical Center.

Throughout its history, Shriners Hospital for Children®—Erie, has helped children with complex orthopaedic conditions defy the odds and lead healthy, prosperous lives. “The Sunshine Valley Camp has come a long way,” notes Antoon, “but the vision to transform children’s lives by providing exceptional health care, has not wavered.

Well, at least the days are getting longer. That’s all we need to say about central Ohio weather and climate. Snowbirds, be glad you are wherever you are.

The next big thing on the horizon for the Reception Unit is the annual Aladdin Shrine Circus. This year’s edition will not be so big; it is scaled down to three days—Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 24-26. There will be three shows each on Friday and Saturday and two shows on Sunday. Again Frank Swiatek will lead the ushers and will be mailing a solicitation for volunteers soon (if it hasn’t been mailed already). Time and change are shrinking the pool of potential ushers, so please consider giving as much of your time as possible to this important fundraising activity. As you probably know, participants need not be Shriners or Masons, but can be family members or friends.

The Aladdin Sled Hockey Tournament came off as scheduled last month. Too bad our ability to support the tournament was limited by its conflict with the Potentate’s installation.

As mentioned a couple of Lamps ago, we plan to publish a new unit directory soon now that the deadline has passed for payment of dues. I will be canvassing by phone to smoke out any changes of status, address, phone number or email address. We will dispense with photographs for this issue. If you don’t hear from me, please call me at 614-310-5007 with any changes.

Director Jack Bonn has accepted an order for a paver over the holidays and will accept more. He anticipates the first of an annual installation of new pavers in the fall of the year.

Harry Webster and Nancy have returned from a trip to the Caribbean where Harry continued his rehab from successful shoulder surgery. Further on the rehab front, Frank Swiatek is now able to walk a bit on his mending, broken foot.

Congratulations go to Mike Johnson on his election to the ASHAC Board of Trustees. Mike was also the installing marshall at Illustrious Sir Jon Kinney’s installation as Potentate of Aladdin Shrine.

Jack Davis has let it be known that he will be retiring in April as chairman of the Potentate’s Golf Trip to Santee, SC. Jack deserves our thanks for eleven years of service in this job, successful, of course, as with everything Jack puts his hands on.

This is a rare month—no birthdays now that our good friend Tom Keller has departed. Take a moment to remember him.

Senior Shriner Officers

The month of January was an off month for the clowns. For February we have only the ISCA competition in Richmond, Virginia and in March we will start the parade season off with Dublin’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Also in March we have the Aladdin Shrine Circus.

Please pray for those who may be ill or dealing with a sick loved one and pray for those who are on the front lines 24/7 for our safety and freedom.

Peace and may God be with you!

The band had over a month off; I hope all enjoyed their holidays. We started this year with a band meeting on Tuesday, January 24. It was a good turnout. We are on our way back to getting our chops or fingers ready for the circus.Event Dates for the Band

Marching with the

We look forward to serving Aladdin Shriners in 2017. The Aladdin Leadership Seminar and Installation of Officers was well attended by Aladdin and our members this year. We saw Dick Luckay and Sarah attending the installation dinner. Good to see them back and out again.

The presentation of colors was sharply done by First Lieutenant Commander Joseph Foror, Past Commander Mike Tyne (PP), Past Commander Robert Spencer, Past Commander Jim Rock, Commander John Iben and Chester Van Horn.

Illustrious Mike Tyne, PP as commander did an outstanding job leading us to meet all our scheduled parades and activities. He is a hard act to follow. We now have a full year ahead with six circus performances, Muirfield gates, 17 parades and Aladdin Stated Meetings to man this year.

We hope to get new members to join us since our membership is getting older. Our next scheduled meeting is at the Aladdin Shrine temple headquarters on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. in the Aladdin Room.

To be a member of the Legion of Honor, you need to be currently in the military or have served with an honorable discharge. Since Illustrious Ronald Leonard has finished his outstanding year as Potentate, he wants to get into uniform and join us in our activities this year. He is always setting a leadership example and we are proud to have him as a legion member. Hope to see all of you soon at the circus.

Provost by Joey BrooksThe second week of January was a very busy time for Nobles of the Provost Unit. On

January 10, the Provost Unit held their monthly meeting which began with the usual fanfare, officer’s reports and other routine business.

The big announcement of the evening came as Audit Committee Chairman Gene Steineman announced the audit of the Provost Unit finances for 2016 had

been completed. The results of the audit indicated that, due to the membership working additional special events during 2016, the unit had increased income

for the year. Gene went on to say he believes this may have been a record year for the unit’s fundraising. This news was received by an invigorating round of applause

from the nobles in attendance. Congratulations and thanks go to the nobles of the Provost Unit who contributed their time and effort in achieving this great accomplishment. Let’s make 2017 even better!

The Provost Sunshine Committee reported John Rohal’s lady, Mary, is recovering from a broken collarbone, Howard Beane’s lady, Marsha, is recovering from knee surgery, Tom Rice is still recovering from his recent heart surgery, and it was good to see Bill Dountz out and about after his recent hospital stays.

January 14 was a significant date for the Provost Unit as Illustrious Sir Jon Kinney was installed as the 2017 Potentate of Aladdin Shrine. Other Provosts joining our new Potentate as members of the Divan are Recorder Donald Goodman, PP, Assistant Rabban Rodney Holdren, Oriental Guide Art Wilson and Second Ceremonial Master Mark Froehlich.

Finally, on Sunday, January 15 several nobles of the Provost Unit, along with Illustrious Potentate Jon Kinney and members of the Divan, spent the morning at the Chiller in Dublin where they presented Ohio Sled Hockey with a donation.

Celebrating birthdays in February are Rich A. Aldridge, Leo C. Doyle, Darren H. Harder, George D. Henderson, Lawrence P. Jones, Harold F. Nairn, Robert B. Radcliff, Larry N. Sanford, Marvin P. Stein, and Gene F. Steineman.

The next meeting of the Provost Unit will be Tuesday, February 14. Until then, stay warm and have one for me.

by Don JonesRoss CountyNobles, if you are reading this you have made it through the worst of winter. I told my wife a few weeks ago "I don't feel like doing anything.” Later I realized that the reason was that I just love to be outside. Then I realized that I didn't have to be outside to do something worthwhile. I mused, "What could I do to benefit the Shrine?” The future of the Shrine depends on new members. Furthermore, to get new Shriners we need new Master Masons. To get new Master Masons depends on each one of us. Many of us have sons, grandsons, co-workers or friends who have never been approached about Freemasonry. As I questioned in closing last month's article. " If not you, then who?"

by Roger FausnaughPickawayDecember Meeting The December meeting was called to order by President Rocky Arledge at 7:00 p.m. Noble Rusty Green gave the opening prayer and Pledge of Allegiance.

Noble Roger Fausnaugh read the November minutes A motion was made by Noble Jeff Reams and second by Noble Asa Elsea to accept the minutes. The financial report was given by Noble Jim Willeford. We also received communication about the 2017 Aladdin Shrine Leadership Seminar and Installation of Officers. The newly elected Illustrious Potentate Jon M. Kinney is a member of our club.

We were informed that Noble Bill Dountz is doing better but is tired and resting. Noble Ned Young and his wife are still residing at Wyngate.

Noble Kevin Hulse is going to check on places to find a supplier for doughnuts for the this year’s Circleville Pumpkin Show. Noble Jon Demjen is going to check about getting a bus and have nobles travel and visit the Shriners Hospital for Children®—Cincinnati.

Officers for next year will be President Rocky Arledge, Vice President Jeff McClanahan, Secretary Roger Fausnaugh, Treasure Jim Willeford, Chaplin Rusty Green and Trustees Greg Shires, Noble Rick Blankenship and Jeff Reams.

There were a total of nine Nobles at the meeting which closed at 7:45 p.m. by President Rocky and the closing prayer given by Noble Rusty. January Meeting

We had two nobles from Pike County Shrine visit: Nobles Gerald Remy and Ron Bixler. As in the past, they wanted to use our building on March 24 for a stop from the Aladdin Shrine Circus. A motion was made and passed to allow usage. Noble Carl Hemming is also working with them to send kids from Pickaway. It had been awhile since we have sent any kids. Noble Ron also gave us information about how Pike County runs their golfing outing.

We were informed of several local Blue Lodges having upcoming inspections. Pickaway and Heber lodge inspections were January 28 and Amanda Lodge was February 4..

There was a total of 17 nobles at the meeting. Meeting was closed at 7:55 p.m. by President Rocky and closing prayer given by Noble Rusty.

Our meetings are the fourth Monday of the month.

A big “thank you” goes to Dick Bull for his 16 years of service as unit director. He has spent countless hours serving our unit and advancing our cause. He was presented his Director Emeritus Fez by Potentate Ron Leonard during the Potentate’s Visit/Unit Christmas Party. It was great to see Ruth Ann at our Potentate’s Visit/Unit Christmas Party and I know that she is excited with Dick’s retirement as unit director since she will be able to spend more time in Florida.

Congratulations go to Don Lund for receiving his 70 year pin. That is quite a milestone in Masonry. A special “thank you” goes to Potentate Ron Leonard for his leadership for an outstanding year for the Aladdin Shrine. We are all proud of you for the great job you did.

Dee Beeman was released on the December 12 and has returned to her unit at the National Church Residence. Carl Long had his tumor removed from his left arm (shoulder) and will begin radiation treatments. Keep him in your prayers. Ruth Ann Bull is recovering well after her hip replacement
