Welcome to the first summit of the European Executive Council. The speed of change in the Content Management industry, and the results of our recentinfluential market reports co-authored by Geoffrey Moore and Andy McAfee are spurringunprecedented growth for AIIM — in members, revenues, and influence in the technologymarketplace. It’s now time to take the next step.

As industry visionaries, we’ve brought you together today to create a permanent space, aleadership space, to identify the industry trends and technologies that are transforming theuser experience. With expert facilitation by Futurist and Executive Director of the ITLeadership Academy, Thornton May, we have two primary goals:

n Articulate the impact that these new technologies will have on the workplace

n Define specific use cases for how the technologies can transform organisations andways of work.

Today, we’ll forge a new path where technology not only organises business, it drivesbusiness by connecting people, ideas, and knowledge. The results of our work will bepublished and shared with the AIIM community and beyond.

The future is already here, what is needed is a vision. I thank you for committing yourselfto working with us to create that vision. Let’s have some fun.
