He picked up his pen and started writing. “Last Year, I had a surgery and my gall bladder was removed. I had to stay stuck to the bed due to this surgery for a long time.” “The same year, I reached the age of 60 years and had to give up my favorite job. I had spent 30 years of my life.” “The same year I experienced sorrow of the death of my father.” “In the same year, my son failed in his medical exam as he had a car accident and had to stay in bed for several days and the destruction of the car was another loss.” At the end he wrote: “It was such a bad year!!!” When the writer’s wife entered the room, she found her husband sad, looking lost in his thoughts. From behind the back, she read what was written in the note. She left the room silently and came back with another paper and placed it on side of her husband’s writing. When the writer saw the paper, he found the following text written on it. “Last year I finally got rid of my gall bladder due to which I had spent years in pain.” “I turned 60 with sound health and got retired from my job. Now I can utilize my time to write something better with more focus and peace.” The same year, my father, at the age of 95, without depending on anyone or without any critical condition left for his heavenly abode.” “The same year, God blessed my son with a new life. My car was destroyed but my son stayed alive without getting disability.” At the end, she wrote: “This year was an immense blessing of God and it passed well.” There is a stark contrast in the depiction of the same events having different view points. If we ponder with this view point that we have got away with very little hard ship what could have been much more severe, we would truly become thankful to the almighty. In daily lives, we must see that it is not happiness that makes us grateful but gratefulness which makes us happy. Problems encountered when Pump / Motor connected with a Soft Starter is replaced
In a set up consisting of Pump & Motor assembly being driven by a Soft Starter, which is in operation for a long time, there are possibilities of malfunctioning of the system components or changes in the settings are required in case pump / motor is replaced with a new one in the set up.
There are various reasons and the user has to take in to consideration the following issues.
If the new pump is capable of delivering slightly higher pressure than the old one, it requires slightly more power than the previously connected pump.
The new pump may require slightly higher starting current because of its higher efficiency.
In case the new motor has slightly lower full load current rating and is designed at lower slip than the previously connected motor, the motor pump assembly consumes more power particularly when old motor is replaced with a new motor having higher efficiency but old pump is retained in the set up.
If the soft starter output voltage remains low for longer period of time, the motor may draw higher current for longer time resulting in over heating of the motor windings.
Till the time the soft starter remains in operation, the motor receives at its input phase angle controlled wave form which is not pure sinusoidal and has high harmonic contents, iron loss and copper loss increases while starting torque produced remains at the same level. Of Course this phenomenon remains for a short duration till the motor attains its full speed and soft starter is bypassed.
If the pump is connected in parallel with other pumps and is drawing higher level of current due to its own higher discharge level, it may get over loaded.
If the soft starter is in use for a longer period of time it may require thorough maintenance.
Following precautions are essential.
Electrical installation of the pump should be correct.
Process parameters and electrical parameters should be recorded.
Monitor flow, pressure & temperature and eliminate pump cavitation.
Also monitor pump speed, start up & steady state voltage & current.
Monitor soft starter closing its bypass contactor in order to facilitate pump being connected to mainssupply as its speed reaches rated level.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW
A slitter rewinder machine is responsible for unwinding huge, newly made rolls from the main paper making machine, cutting them into smaller sections, and rewinding them as more manageable rolls for distribution. As one of the final production points in a paper mill, any problem with the slitter rewinder can halt production for the entire mill.
Consisting of multiple motors and controls, the slitter rewinder is one of the most advanced pieces of equipment in a mill. At the heart of this machine’s process is tension, which determines the quality of the paper rolls. Accurate and consistent controls need to be applied throughout the process to ensure perfect paper reeling, precise slitting and proper roll density profiles.
Except for nip control, the quality of the roll is governed, largely, by the performance of the drives. The rewinder must run as a synchronized system and provide tight control of speed and torque through the continual cycles i.e. from stop-to-full-speed, and back-down-to-zero-speed. Even small inaccuracies in performance can cause problems, such as sheet breaks, rough edges, resulting in downtime, rejected rolls and, ultimately, lost profit.
Slitter rewinder includes control of Rear and Front drum motor, Rider roll motors, Brake generator, Trim blower, knife motors etc. Automation system takes care of controlling the speed and tension throughout the speed range.
Amtech, provides total solution for slitter rewinder with/without brake generator and auto tension control for various types of paper viz. newsprint, writing and kraft paper. This solution provides taper tension rewinding and constant tension rewinding as per the requirement.
