Bee Counter - Summary

• Goal – to develop a system to count the number of bees entering and exiting a hive using a DVS

• A DVS was mounted above hive and video was recorded

• A bee counter filter was developed in jAER • The bees were counted manually and using the filter

using jAER• System was very successful for low densities of bees

but became more inaccurate for high densities
