Abertis Infraestructuras, a Spanish conglomerate headquartered in Barcelona, runs over 8,300 kilometres of motorways in 12 countries in Europe and America, and manages toll roads and telecommunication infrastruc-tures. In 2015, Abertis generated revenues of €4,378 million. Two-thirds of its revenue is generated outside Spain. In France, it manages 1,761 kilometers of toll roads through concessionaire group Sanef. Abertis is ac-tively analysing acquisitions, particularly in North America and Europe. In Italy, it is in exclusive negotiations to purchase control of A4 Holding, which holds the concession for the A4 (Brescia- Padova) and A31 (Vicenza-Piovene-Rocchette) toll roads. Abertis is listed on the Spanish Stock Exchange and is on the IBEX 35 and the international FTSEurofirst 300 and Standard & Poors’ Europe 350 indexes.

Allianz SE is a European financial services company headquartered in Munich, Germany. Its core businesses are insurance and asset management. As of 2014, it is the world’s largest insurance company. Its Allianz Global Investors division ranks as a top-five global active investment manager, having €1,933 billion of assets under management, of which €1,408 billion are third-party assets, with specialized asset managers includ-ing PIMCO (bonds), RCM (equities) and Degi (real estate). The company is a component of the Euro Stoxx 50 stock market index.

BlackRock, Inc. is a global leader in investment management, risk management and advisory services for institutional and retail clients. Based in New York City, it is the world’s largest asset manager, with over $4.5 trillion in assets under management. BlackRock has about 13,000 employees in more than 30 countries and amajor presence in North and South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and the Middle East and Africa.

Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations (CDC), a French state-owned group under the control of the national parliament, manages and reinvests savings accounts. It focuses on supporting local public investment, re-starting home building, strengthening the appeal of territories, and stimulating growth. In 2015, it recorded a net profit of €1.371bn. The Savings Funds held net assets of €254.9 billion.

Cassa depositi e prestiti Group (CDP) is the Italian national promotional institution. The Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance owns 80.1% of its share capital, while various banking foundations hold 18.4%, with the remaining 1.5% in treasury shares. CDP manages a major share of the savings of Italians (postal sav-ings), which represent its main source of funding. It finances investments of public entities, supports the Ital-ian economy and national enterprises, and acts as a catalyst for the development of infrastructure. In 2015, its total assets amounted to €398bn.

Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management (DeAWM), part of Deutsche Bank Group, is one of the leading asset and wealth managers worldwide, with €777 billion of assets under management. It is present in 35 countries and has more than 6,000 employees. DeAWM bundles Deutsche Bank’s Asset and Wealth Manage-ment business and offers a large range of traditional and alternative investment solutions across all asset classes for retail and institutional investors.

Generali Group is the largest insurance company in Italy and the third largest in the world. It is headquar-tered in Trieste and is a component of the Euro Stoxx 50 stock market index. Its asset management compa-ny, Generali Investments Europe, has more than €431 billion of assets under management, including third-party and Generali Group assets.

HSBC is a British multinational banking and financial services company headquartered in London. It is the world’s fourth largest bank by total assets, which in 2015 amounted to $2.4 trillion. HSBC serves more than 47 million customers through four business groups: Retail Banking and Wealth Management; Commercial Banking; Global Banking and Markets; and Global Private Banking. It is listed on the London, Hong Kong, New York, Paris and Bermuda stock exchanges. It has offices in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa, North America and Latin America.

Infracapital Investment Group is a newly formed, privately held limited liability company focused on in-frastructure development and project financing. It is headquartered in London, with offices in 14 countries around the world. Infracapital invests in unlisted equity positions to create a diverse portfolio of high qual-ity infrastructure assets which offer stable cash flows and long term capital value. It has over £2.4 billion of funds under management.

John Laing Infrastructure Fund is a FTSE 250 company with a primary listing on the London Stock Ex-change. It is a Guernsey registered closed-end investment company that raises capital in the equity market. Established in November 2010, the company acquired a seed portfolio of 19 low risk operational public-pri-vate partnership (PPP) projects from John Laing plc. Its portfolio now includes 38 projects located in Europe and North America.

KfW-IPEX Bank is the largest subsidiary of KfW, the German government-owned development bank based in Frankfurt. KfW IPEX-Bank is active in project finance and corporate finance related to German or Euro-pean exports. It also promotes foreign investments in Germany. KfW IPEX-Bank’s main sectors of activity are ports, airports, toll roads, bridges and tunnels, railways, ships, planes, telecommunications, energy, and manufacturing. KfW IPEX-Bank competes directly with commercial banks. In 2015, it reported total assets of €28,6bn and an operating income before taxes of €274 million. New commitments totalled €20.2 bn, making 2015 the most successful year in the company’s history.

The Marguerite Fund (2020 European Fund for Energy, Climate Change and Infrastructure) is a pan-Euro-pean equity fund that acts as a catalyst for key investments in renewables, energy and transport. Launched in 2010, with the backing of six major European financial institutions (namely the EIB, Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, Instituto de Crédito Oficial, Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau, PKO Bank Polski), it makes capital-intensive infrastructure investments. Together with the European Commission and other institutional investors, the fund has commitments of EUR 710m.

Meridiam is a global investor and asset manager based in Paris and specialized in developing, financing and managing long-term public infrastructure projects in Europe, North America and Africa. It manages €3.2 bil-lion of assets and has to date invested in over 44 transport, building and public services projects. Meridiam has offices in France, Luxembourg, the United States, Canada and Turkey.

Merrill Lynch Wealth Management is the wealth management division of Bank of America. It is headquar-tered in New York City. Before being acquired by Bank of America in 2009, Merrill Lynch was publicly owned and traded on the New York Stock Exchange. In October 2013, it was merged into Bank of America Corpora-tion. Merrill Lynch employs over 15,000 financial advisors and manages $2.2 trillion in client assets.

The Netherlands Investment Agency for EFSI (NIA) for EFSI (NIA) was established to help Dutch projects access financing offered by the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI). NIA advises public and private parties in the preparation and development of investment projects; assists government departments and bodies in producing an inventory of investments; brings together investors and financial parties; acquires regional, national and cross-border projects with a high probability of success; and addresses regulatory obstacles.
