For Residential Users

Natcomm Intercoms connect to all of your Standard Telephones and will RING them with a different ring pattern, when the call button is pressed on the attached Door Phone Intercom. All you need to do is to answer any ringing telephone, to achieve loud and clear communication with your visitor.See pages 4-5.

You can also connect a Natcomm Intercom to your Cell Phone, when your site is Unattended, or Full Time so that you can communicate with your Visitors and even let them in remotely.

If you don’t use a Telephone Line, you can still use a set of Inexpensive Cordless Phones as a very convenient, reliable, high quality and inexpensive solution for communication with your Natcomm Door Phone Intercom.

For PBX Office Users our expanded 2018 range provides for even more choices when it comes to connecting your Natcomm Door Phone Intercom to ANY PBX system.

You can connect ANY Natcomm Intercom to an Analogue Extension, FXS port or ATA operation, where it can activate the HOT DIAL programming of the PBX to initiate a specific programmed ringing sequence. Users need only answer their PBX handset to communicate with the visitor. See pages 6-9.

For IP-PBX and Cloud PBX Users, our New Model DS-SIP Controller is designed to Connect direct to a standard Network point of your IP based PBX as a standard SIP Client. DS-SIP connects by DHCP or Static IP and has a full web based Admin panel which can be accessed by a local or remote administrator to set up its Extension and other parameters. DS-SIP has 2 Dry Relay contacts for Door and/or Gate control. See pages 8-9.

All Door Phone Intercoms are designed to be highly weather resistant. If the Door Phone Intercom is exposed to direct rain, it is recommended that you use a Door Phone Intercom cover for flush mounted Door Phone Intercoms or use a surface mount kit which incorporates a rain deflector. Using a rain cover will increase the life of your exposed Door Phone Intercom. (See page 14)

Connect ONE or TWO Door Phonesto your Ordinary Single Telephone Line

These DOOR STATION controllers are designed to operate with your ordinary (residential type) PSTN telephone line. They are also suitable for sites that do not use a telephone line, such as VOIP users or households that only use Mobile Phones (see page 16).

Our range of surface mount or flush mount DOOR PHONES connect direct to the DOOR STATION controller. The door phones can be up to 330 yards (300 meters) from the door station controller.

When a visitor presses the call button on the door phone, our door station controller will RING all the TELEPHONES on your line with a different ring so that you will know the call is from the door phone. All you need to do is to answer any telephone to achieve loud and clear communication with your visitor. There are no call charges.

If you are already on a telephone call, Models DS2 and DS3 controllers (not DS1) will alert you with a call advise tone every 15 seconds. You can then place your telephone call ON HOLD and speak to your visitor by pressing ##. You can then return to your telephone caller when ready by pressing ## again. Similarly, if you are on a door phone call when an incoming telephone call is present the same procedure applies.

Model DS2 incorporates an internal relay which can be used to open or release a door or gate lock. Lock release time is fully programmable.

Model DS3 has the ability to DIAL OUT to your mobile phone (or any other programmed telephone number) when you are not home and connect you to your visitor at the door phone (normal call charges apply). You will then be able to converse with your visitor and even let them in if you wish.

Model DS3 also provides two internal relays which can be used to open locks in two separate areas (eg; one at your front gate and one at your front door). The second relay in both these models can alternatively be used to SWITCH ON a light, a video camera/recorder or any other electrical device as soon as the call button is pressed on the door phone and then SWITCH THEM OFF after the call is complete.

If you have a SECURITY ALARM or HOME AUTOMATION system, you can use the second relay of model DS3 to interface to it and with suitable equipment you can even have a photo or streaming video of your visitors sent to your smart phone. An Alarm Interface Module (AIM) accessory is also available to automatically set your DS3 to attended or unattended call mode. See page 14 for further details.

• You can use any door phone with any door station controller.

• Our DP1 surface mounting door phone uses a 2 wire communication method.

• Our DP2 to DP5 flush mounting door phones use a 4 wire communication system for enhanced audio volume and clarity.

• Our DP2 to DP5 flush mounting door phones can also be surface mounted when the SMK2 or SMK3 are used.

• A screw terminal connection adaptor is supplied with each unit to provide for easy lock release connection. If lock release is not required, you can bypass the break out box and connect direct to the door phone using normal telephone cable such as CATS3 or CAT5.

• If ADSL is used on the same line, a single ‘central style’ ADSL filter should be fitted ahead of our door station controller.

• If a security alarm is used on the same line, it should also be fitted ahead of our door station controller. The optional AIM (Alarm Interface Module) when used in conjunction with the DS3 controller will automatically set the Dial Out function between Attended and Unattended operation.

Connect ONE or TWO Door Phones to your PBX or Multi-Line Telephone System

Our DS4, DS5 and DS6 Model DOOR STATION controllers are designed to connect to an Analogue Extension, FXS Port or ATA of your PBX or other multi-line telephone system.

Our range of surface mount or flush mount DOOR PHONES connect direct to the DOOR STATION controller. The door phones can be up to 300 meters from the door station controller.

When the call button of either door phone is activated, our DS4 or DS5 unit will generate an off hook condition to your PBX, which can then direct your door phone call as required. (The PBX should be set to HOTDIAL this extension).

Note: Model DS6 can dial a pre-programmed internal or external number, if your PBX cannot.

The door station controller will then terminate the call as soon as the called party hangs up, using hang up tone detection.

Communication is loud and clear, similar to a phone call and there are NO call charges, unless the call is routed to an external number.

With models DS5 or DS6 you can also call the extension at any time and open a door or gate.

Model DS5 incorporates an internal relay which can be used to open or release a door or gate lock. Lock release time is fully programmable.

EASY IP SETUPWith Supplied PC Software

1. DS-SIP Switch can be connected direct to Any Network Point or direct to an IP Switch, Router or

even the IP Modem.

2. Connect DS-SIP to your Door Phone Intercom using a 2 Wire or 4 Wire cable up to 500 Yards away.

CAT3 or CAT5 is ideal.

3. Connect the supplied 12VDC Power Adaptor.

4. DS-SIP will automatically connect to the Network via DHCP (you can then change to Static IP if you

like.

5. Install and Run the supplied Windows Installation Software on any PC on the same Network

(Windows 7 or later).

This program will:

Display the IP Address, Gateway Address, Subnetmask and MAC address of your DS-SIP. It will allow

you to Enter the Advanced Settings Menu where you can :

• Enter the PBX Extension Number assigned to PA-SIP by your PBX Administrator.

• Allow Automatic Registration with the PBX Server.

• Allow you to set up a Static IP Address if you wish.

• Change the Port Number from the default setting of 5060 (if required).

• Change the allowed Audio Codecs from the default setting.

• Change all other settings associated with SIP communication.


Telephone Based Door Phone SolutionsThere are some applications where use of a conventional analogue telephone handset is a preferred solution to the use of an intercom style door phone.

INDUSTRIAL TRUCK STOPS

The background noise from a noisy idling truck will usually drown out effective communication with a traditional intercom style door phone.

The most effective solution is to use a rugged noise cancelling industrial telephone with a long robust handset cord, placed on a mounting located at the correct height for truck drivers to easily access.

Having the noise cancelling microphone of the handset right next to the visitors mouth and the speaker of the handset right next to the visitors ear is the MOST effective means of reliable communication in these noisy environments.

To initiate the door phone call, all the driver needs to do is lift the receiver (go off-hook). Our DS7, DS8 or DS9 controller will detect this and then RING or ROUTE the door phone call as per your requirements.

Upon answer, both parties will be able to converse normally (at telephone call quality) and the answering party can OPEN the gate by pressing ** on their telephone handset. The internal lock control relay(s) can be programmed to operate with all types of industrial gates.

HOT DIAL APPLICATIONS for EMERGENCIES or CONVENIENCE

There are many applications where a single pre-programmed number will need to be dialed quickly and automatically from a Telephone handset which does not have conventional dialing keys to prevent unauthorised use :

• Emergency Dial Telephones in Industrial Situations, • Taxi Phones, • Reception Phones etc.

Our Model DS9 Controller is ideal for this application, as it can be :

• Quickly and easily programmed to dial a specific Telephone Number • Programmed to Limit the Time of a call• Has TWO Internal Relays which can be used to automatically activate other

electrical equipment, such as lights, video recorders, electric doors, sirens etc as soon as the handset is lifted to make a call, or upon DTMF activation by the Answering Party.

Intelligent Touch Tone controlled Relays for Access Control Our RCU lock control units are intelligent programmable devices with either 1 or 2 internal dry relay contacts, which can be used to control an external device or provide for access or lock control. They are designed to connect to the telephone line in parallel, at any point and you can fit multiple units to a single line. Codes can be any 1 to 4 digit number and the relay can close from 1 to 99 seconds when the code is detected

Model RCU1 - provides for control of 1 dry relay contact.

Alarm Interface Module Our inexpensive AIM alarm interface module accessory is designed to operate with our model DS3 door station controller and any security alarm system that provides a set of external contacts that close or open whenever the alarm is enabled or disabled. DS3 has the ability to DIAL OUT and connect a visitor that has pressed the call button on any of our door phones to a pre-programmed telephone number (usually a mobile telephone) if the site is unattended. By incorporating the AIM accessory with the alarm panel, DS3 can be instructed to night switch and DIAL OUT IMMEDIATELY whenever the alarm is enabled and to RING internally when the alarm is disabled.

Reseller Details

Operation at sites without a Telephone Line Our Door Station equipment can also be used at sites which do not use an incoming Telephone Line. This is ideal for VOIP users and households that only use Mobile Phones. In this situation, your cordless or standard telephones can still be used to receive Door Phone calls. They connect to the Door Station Controller as normal and operation remains unchanged including the ability to open a gate or lock. However, without a telephone line it is no longer possible to connect door phone calls to an external number or mobile phone.

Operation with ADSLOur door station products are designed to operate with an ADSL service. They will not affect your ADSL service and your ADSL service will not affect the operation of our devices.

It is essential that you use a high quality ADSL filter/splitter on your telephone line ahead of our controller. We recommend the use of C10 brand ADSL filters. See page 15.

Operation with CallerIDOur Door Station products are designed to operate with a CallerID service.

Operation with Simulated Telephone servicesOur products are designed and guaranteed to operate with standard PSTN telephones lines and PBX Telephone Systems. We are unable to guarantee the full operation of our products on simulated telephone line services such as those provided via Cable or ATA devices, because the operation of our products depends on the accuracy of the simulated services.
