Diseases & Mortality

Non-communicable and chronic diseases are the leading causes of death in most parts of the rural India

Based on current trends, it is expected that non communicable diseases (NCD) will account for 73% of deaths and 60% of the global disease burden by 2020

They will also account for a major proportion of disease and deaths in India

These deaths are mostly due to heart disease, strokes, diabetes mellitus, cancers and lung diseases.

Healthcare Costs & it’s Impact

India is a 100% self-pay market 98% of our patients are spending from their own pocket/savings no medical insurance, no other source of financial support Many patients also take loans to pay

40%–70% of Healthcare expenditures are financed by borrowing

The devastating impact of TB, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), heart diseases, etc. on individual household is similar, with children having to discontinue schooling and/or take up employment to provide an additional source of income.

People are forced to sell away their properties and farms
