Transcript of Innocast Media's Center for academic excellence and faculty development for higher education
World’s Leading Campus Digital Library, Center for Academic Excellence, Research & Faculty Development
Challenges faced by Institutions
• Institutions today are more Teaching oriented and less Learning oriented
• Classroom or Synchronized learning is the only method today, no facilities for Asynchronous learning
• Most learning end at the institution and students face difficulty in continuing their learning outside classroom as they have no access to learning resources
• Many institutions make students imprisoned than engaged as most learning today is scoring oriented and not knowledge oriented
2
• Books are the only mode of learning for students in the campus. Tools provided by authors and industry are not available
• Most students have difficulty learning concepts and theories as the link to the “real‐world” usage is not shown, ending up students lacking motivation to retain knowledge
• Language learning, important concepts need more hands‐on work and examples
• Students are not given at‐will opportunity to test themselves as to where they stand
3
Challenges faced by Institutions
• Institutions are unable to provide state‐of‐the‐art faculty tools or assist them in continuing their research and education
• Faculty cannot show real‐world concepts due to various constraints and most institutions lack in‐campus virtual world replica. This often fail to engage students, they can lead to uninspired work and a gradual process of disengagement
• For these reasons, accrediting agencies award highest marks for TLP‐ teaching learning process
