What Are the Inner Planets?

• There are 4 inner planets.• They are Earth, Mars, Venus, and Mercury • But we are only going to talk about Venus, and

Mercury.• These four planets are the closest to our sun.• Venus and Mercury are the only planets that do

not have moons. There are even a few asteroids that have moons. Venus; however, may not have always been moonless.

Venus

Venus is considered the twin planet of earth because of its similar size and gravity.Venus’s distance from sun is 108 million km.Its distance from the earth is 38 million km.Venus is almost the same size as earth Earth's diameter is 7,926 miles (12,756 kilometers) Venus's diameter is 7,257 miles (11,677 kilometers)

Venus

• Venus is a very dangerous place to live in because of all the volcanoes and lightning storms.

• It is really hot on Venus because most of its atmosphere is carbon dioxide which makes Venus really hot. This carbon dioxide comes from the volcanoes. Venus spins opposite of all the other planets.

• But that’s not the reason Venus is intolerable its because of its wicked temperature. Venus is the hottest plant in the solar system.

Mercury

• Mercury’s distances from the sun is 36,000,000 miles. • From the earth 77 million km (48 million miles).• Mercury's size diameter is 4879 km or 3,032 miles.• It is the closed to the sun.• It has no moon.• It has no atmosphere.• It is visible on earth on twilight hour's• Mercury is the smallest planet or scrawniest planet in

the solar system.

Mercury

• It takes about 180 earth days for half a year so Mercury has the record of being the slowest planet spinning.

• Mercury is a dead planet.• On the side Mercury is facing the sun is 800

degrees and on the other side is 300 degrees below 0.

• The skies are usually black or like stary nights

Mercury

• In earth we are protected by our atmosphere but on Mercury there is no atmosphere so

• Mercury gets hit by all the asteroids and meteors.

• This makes Mercury the most heavily cratered planet in the solar system.
