• A project (NCDOT STIP Project No. I-5000) is under construction due to be completed in 2020. Traffic analysis showed a need to extend the two lanes from the flyunder ramp onto I-85 to increase capacity and improve merge safety.
• Improvements for this interchange area will be designed to stay within the I-5000 project right-of-way for total avoidance of the Sims Legion Park.
• Improvements for this area will be designed to avoid the John Harmon Cemetery.
• I-5719 begins at U.S. 321.
