Trailer

After doing my transition work over the summer on film trailers and short films I have decided that I am going to create a trailer for my coursework this year. This is because I am more aware of a trailers codes and conventions and I have past experience of creating a trailer.

Genre

My chosen genre is ‘drama’ within this genre many subgenres can be explored such as; romantic drama, crime drama and thriller drama. Drama films (film trailers) show a story of realistic characters dealing with ‘dramatic’ situations/life struggles. Popular narratives for drama films are issues such as poverty, class, violence and drugs/alcohol and death. I feel as if drama gives me a broad genre to research and a range of high quality films and their trailers to analyse and get ideas from.
