INITIAL IDEA 1

“The first two pages of an original local newspaper”

It would follow a simple house style using only 3 colours (red, white and black)

Name of the newspaper would begin with ‘The’ as this appears to be a typical convention

Would also create a billboard poster and a radio advertisement

INITIAL IDEA 2

“An extract from an original documentary TV programme, lasting approximately 5 minutes”

The topic would be young people and unemployment

It would follow 2 people on their daily lives and hunt for a job

It would have sections of them out and about handing out CVs as well as interviews with them

Locations: At home, city centres handing out CVs, coffee shops

I would also create a double page spread and newspaper advertisement

INITIAL IDEA 3 “An extract from an original documentary TV

programme, lasting approximately 5 minutes” Based on young people and alcohol/binge drinking Locations: Newcastle city centre at night (would have to

take necessary safety precautions), local pub, in a house It would feature shots of young people drinking (all above

18 years old) and interviews with them about why they drink and when they first began drinking

Could also feature an element on smoking Fabricated stories about the casts life and reasons why

they drink to make it more interesting (e.g. alcoholic parents, difficult home life)

The cast would be my friends I would create a double page spread and newspaper

INITIAL IDEA 4 “An extract from an original documentary TV

programme, lasting approximately 5 minutes” Take place at an event held by the LTA Either:

- Documenting the event as a whole, interviewing various players and spectators- Following one player throughout the day, documenting their progress and interviewing them about their tennis career

Issues:- There may not be an upcoming event as it will be Winter- Would be better if the event was for over 18s so I didn’t have to gain parental consent for filming

I would also create a double-page spread and a newspaper advertisement

MAINIDEA

INITIAL IDEA 5 (BACK UP IDEA) “A promotion package for the release of an album,

including a music promo video” The video would be to Brandon & Leah – Life Happens and

would be inspired by the original No storyline just various natural shots of friends having

fun. Would attempt to leave it as unscripted as possible to avoid it looking cheesy

Shots would keep cutting back to two people who are supposed to be the ‘artists’ lip-syncing. However, I would keep this to a minimal as it would be difficult to ensure their miming looks realistic and matches the song

Locations: In someone’s house, the beach, in the car, the pub etc.

I would create a digipak featuring an image of the two ‘artists’ and a magazine advertisement for the digipak
