INGRID’S SPRING NEWSLETTER
3729 N. RAVENSWOOD AVE., Suite # 138, Chicago, IL 60613 April 2013
Welcome to my SPRING NEWSLETTER! Winter still has a firm grip outside, but SPRING is blooming in my home with my Gardenia tree and Lemon tree in full bloom! I even have some or-chids and cacti in bloom. With ALL of my activities plus LIFE, I completely lost track of time and did not get my Winter Newslet-ter written and sent. Therefore I will get everyone caught up with this issue!
IN THE NEWSSo far this has been a VERY BUSY year for me, with workshops, classes, an exhibition, demonstration and national and international exhibitions.
146th INTERNATIONAL AMERICAN WATERCOLOR SOCIETY Exhibi-tion Salmagundi Club, NYC April 2 - 21http://www.americanwatercolorsociety.orgI was very honored to be accepted into the 146th International AWS Exhibition held at the Salmagundi Club in New York City. To be hanging along side of those artists whom I have admired for so many years is a humbling experience. A letter from AWS revealed that I received the Anne Williams Glushien Award for my painting, ALLEY GRIT. Another letter from AWS stated that my painting would travel with the AWS Traveling Exhibit for the 2013/14 tour. But the BEST AWARD that I received was from my students who made it possible for me to attend the exhibition in NYC and attend the Awards Dinner, on April 18th. This was truly an award from the heart and one I will treasure always.
4th ANNUAL SIGNATURE AMERICAN WATERCOLOR Exhibi-tion Fallbrook Art Center, Fallbrook, CA February 3 - March 17 http://www.fallbrookartsalliance.org/calendar/view/1009779.html
Another thrilling experience was to be accepted into this exhibition in California with my painting, STREETWISE.

Through her lectures, painting demonstrations, and personal attention to each student, the students will be exposed to the elements and principles of design, the importance of value relationships in painting, color mixing, how to plan a painting, along with the various interesting techniques used in watercolor to create unique painting results. Students will learn HOW TO EXPRESS instead of copying. Each class is followed by a class critique where students gain knowledge from the works of their fellow classmates.
