    This trophy was presented to the Inglewood Show Society by the late

    Miss Jean Cheshire.

    The trophy will be awarded to the most successful individual family exhibitors.

    Points will be allotted equally in all sections of the schedule.

    The winning family will hold the trophy for one year only.

    General Horse Rules and Regulations

    1. “Entry by Ticket System” - Tickets available from Ring 3 Office.

    4. The Ring Program will NOT be held up in the event of clashing – competitor MUST decide. All ring classes will be called for 3 times and then will commence.

    5. All first prize winners are eligible to compete in Championship classes without further ticket entry.

    HORSES

    OWNERS OF ALL HORSES WHO ENTER THE INGLEWOOD SHOWGROUND MUST HAVE

    A COMPLETED HORSE HEALTH DECLARATION & MOVEMENT FORM AND WAIVER

    FORM WHICH IS TO BE HANDED IN TO RING 3 OFFICE WHEN OBTAINING TICKETS FOR

    RING EVENTS.

    10. NOVICE— is a horse that has not won an Open Championship at an Agricultural Show or a first place at a Royal Show.

    11. OPEN— a horse that has won two (2) novice classes at an Agricultural Show.

    12. Pony Hack Classes over 12.2hh may be ridden by a juvenile or adult rider.

    13. Parents, Guardians, or Strappers are not permitted in the horse arena during judging other than in lead line class. In lead line class there must be only one (1) handler.

    14. Horses are either exhibited as either HACK or SHOWHUNTER—not both.

    15. Junior riders are not prohibited to wear top boots.

    16. All exhibits in Breed Classes must be registered with the appropriate Society and Exhibitors to be current financial members. Registration and membership forms to be produced on request.

    17. STALLIONS—excluded from all Ridden Pony, Galloway and Hack Classes, Rider Classes and Sporting Events.

    18. All stallions to be suitably restrained and if stabling is not available then a collar is to be worn and securely tied up.

    19. ALL COMPETITORS UNDER 18 YEARS MUST WEAR AN APPROVED EQUESTRIAN HELMET AS/NZ3838 OR BETTER—NO HELMET NO RIDE!

    20. AGE CLASSES— all children competing in restricted age classes to produce certificate of age such as from the school or the like, if required to do so.

    21. The Committee reserves the right to combine classes if not enough competitors.

    1. Is NOT compulsory but exhibitors will be responsible for ensuring that their horses are

    in the correct height classes.

    2. In the event of an official complaint a Certificate of Height from the EFA/Show Hack Council will be required or the measurer will measure the horse, the height on the day

    will be accepted.

    3. Exhibitors wishing to have their horses measured on the grounds may do so at the following times 1. FRIDAY: 3:00-4:00pm ; 2. SATURDAY: 7:30-9:30am

    4. Horses being presented for measuring must do so with a bit in their mouths.

    1. Horse stalls may be booked under the following conditions: A. Applications must be received 14 days prior to the first day of the Show. B. Cost $10.00 per stall, $15.00 per stallion stall. (for Show duration)

    2. No applications will be accepted unless accompanied by the appropriate fee and paid in full prior to the show. (Payable to Inglewood Show Society)

    6. No yards to be erected inside double gates adjacent to the Campdraft Cut-out yards.

    Please Note: All cattle to be in yards at Showgrounds by 9am Saturday. Judging at 11am Saturday.

    • All cattle may be judged on the points systems:- Conformation 30; Finish 30; Weight for Age 30; Trade Suitability 10. Pens: Conformation 30; Finish 30; Weight for Age 30; Trade Suitability 10. Evenness of pen 10.

    • Entries shall be received subject to the right of stewards to reject cattle which they may consider of insufficient merit to compete as prime cattle.

    • Exhibits must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor.

    • Each exhibit to be entered in one class only.

    • The judge may withhold award of a prize if, in his opinion, the entries are not of sufficient merit.

    • Stewards retain the right to transfer an entry to a more suitable class.

    REGULATIONS

    1. Wool exhibits to be in the hands of the stewards before 5.00pm on the Thursday prior to the show, judging will be on the Friday of show.

    2. Exhibitor must state, by means of an affixed tag, in which class wool is to be exhibited. Exhibitors name must be clearly marked on each individual exhibit. Exhibits not clearly marked will not be eligible for judging.

    3. ENTRY FEE: $4.00. Entry fees are exempt if an exhibitor donates one or more fleeces to the society.

    4. All fleeces are to be shorn from sheep that have been the bona-fide property of the exhibitor for the past 12 months.

    5. All fleeces are to be skirted except where otherwise stated.

    6. ALL PRIZES: Ribbons will be suitably inscribed and trophies given where indicated.

    7. Judges will be appointed by the Brisbane Wool Selling Broker’s Association.

    8. LOCAL means grown in the previous Inglewood Shire.

    9. Wool will be received and stored at the owner’s risk at any time prior to the Show by this Society by arrangement with the steward.

    10. The Inglewood Show Society take no responsibility for any variations in micron testing of wool at the show.

    11. The following points system will be used for judging all classes:

    14. If, in the opinion of the judges, a fleece is not made up of wool from the one sheep, ALL fleeces from the exhibitor will be DISQUALIFIED.

    15. Fleeces which, in the opinion of the judges, are overgrown, will be DISQUALIFIED. 16. Trophies, ribbons and wool must not be removed before 5.00pm on the Saturday of

    the Show; and not without payment of entry fees and permission of the steward. 17. After 9.00pm on the Saturday of the Show, the wool will be deemed to be settlement

    of any unsettled entry fees. 18. Exhibitors are reminded that the Society’s General Regulations apply to all sections

    CLASS 17—BOILED FRUIT CAKE CHALLENGE

    The following recipe MUST be used for this class

    375g mixed fruit; 1 teaspoon mixed spice; 1 cup cold water; 1 teaspoon Bi-Carb Soda; 2 well beaten eggs; 1 dessert spoon marmalade; 125g butter; 1 cup sugar; 1 cup S.R. flour; 1 cup plain flour.

    Method—Place butter, marmalade, mixed fruit, spice, soda, sugar and cold water into a saucepan. Boil for 2 minutes, cool slightly, add eggs, fold in sifted flour, bake in 20cm round tin at 160°c (140°c fan forced) for 1 hour or little longer.

    CLASS 4 — LAZY DAISY CAKE

    The following recipe MUST be used for this class Recipe— 125g butter; 125g sugar, 2 eggs; 1/2 cup milk; 1 & 1/3 cups self raising flour;

    1/2 packet jelly crystals (any flavour); vanilla; pinch salt.

    Method—Combine all ingredients in mixing bowl and stir until well blended. Beat for 3

    minutes on medium speed in an electric mixer. Bake in greased and lined bar tin in

    moderate over for 30—40 minutes. Ice when cold and decorate with jelly bean daises.

    INGLEWOOD SHOW SOCIETY INC. BY-LAWS & REGULATIONS

    The Inglewood Show Society Inc is a non-profit organization and monies raised are used to provide,

    maintain and upgrade these amenities where possible.

    1. The attention of intending exhibitors is drawn to the fact that entries are accepted subject to the Rules of the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies and to the Constitution and Rules of

    this Society.

    2. Patrons enter the Inglewood Showgrounds are their own risk.

    3. All contestants compete at own risk. Children must be supervised at all times and are the sole responsibility of their parent or guardian. Patrons are to be aware of the danger of all animals,

    vehicles & machinery.

    4. In the interest of safety and the wellbeing of livestock and spectators alike, visitors are asked to

    keep clear of livestock and areas where livestock congregate.

    5. Unaccompanied children and spectators must not go into the arena or livestock working areas.

    6. Liquor must ONLY be consumed in designated licensed areas. No glass bottles are permitted to

    be brought onto the Showground.

    7. All dogs whilst on the Showground must be tied up or restrained inside trucks or floats.

    8. All entries must be made on printed forms available from the Secretary on application. As far as possible all questions concerned thereon shall be answered. No entry form shall be valid unless signed by the exhibitor or his agent. Entrance fees shall be payable on all exhibits as specified

    under each section or class in the Prize Schedule, such fees to accompany certificate of entry.

    No exhibit can compete for more than one class excepting where otherwise stated. Exhibitors must, if called upon, furnish the name of the person by whom, or where, the stock was actually bred, together with the age, breed and pedigree of such stock as far as it is known for all classes

    in which same is a condition of the competition.

    9. The Inglewood Show Society recommends that all intending exhibitors of livestock are holders of Public Liability Insurance cover. This cover indemnifies the owner for their legal liability for body injury or damage to persons and/or property as a result of an occurrence caused by the

    negligence of their animals whilst attending or participating in Show events.

    10. The Committee reserves the right of refusing or cancelling any entry without giving reasons for so doing. The Committee reserves the right if adjudication on any question able entry or any other point not provided for in the rules and laws of this Society and of making any alteration that may be deemed necessary. The decision of the Committee on all points shall be FINAL without

    recourse.

    11. All exhibits must be delivered to the Showgrounds in the manner and at the times prescribed at the heading of each section. Noncompliance with this provision will result in the

    non-acceptance of the exhibits and forfeiture of the entry fee.

    12. The Society will not be responsible for any accident caused to, or through, or by any exhibit or person, and will not under any circumstances hold itself responsible for any loss or misdelivers

    livestock or other exhibit of any kind, or any damage done thereto.

    13. The Committee shall select for all sections, and fill up any subsequent vacancies. All exhibits shall be judged on their merit, and a book prepared by the Secretary containing the entries shall be signed by the Judges, who will mark awards on a paper supplied to them by the Stewards. The Judges shall as far as possible, assign reasons, through the Secretary, for their decisions, if

    required.

    The Judges shall have the power to award a second prize if the exhibit is not considered worthy of

    first, and shall not award any prize if the exhibit is not of sufficient merit.

    14. The Committee will appoint Stewards for all sections.

    There will be a Steward in charge of each Section, and they shall attend at the time and place

    allotted to them by the Committee.

    The Stewards will check all entries as to their correctness before judging commences.

    The Steward will sign the award books conjointly with the Judges, prepare Prize Cards and

    Ribbons, and in the event of a dispute, shall certify the correctness and identity of the awards.

    The Steward shall carefully explain to the Judges the conditions of the competition in each class, but shall not under any circumstances discuss the merits or demerits of exhibits and shall not, unless absolutely necessary, approach or have any conversation with the Judge whilst he or she is

    adjudicating, or allow exhibitors or the public to do so.

    Stewards will report to the Secretary any disobedience to their orders, or disorderly conduct on the

    part of exhibitors or those in charge of exhibits.

    Stewards shall arrange exhibits, and no exhibit must afterwards be removed without the sanction of the Stewards, under penalty of forfeiture of any prize which may have been awarded to the exhibitor: or such other penalty or disqualification as the Committee may decide. The Society or its representatives will not incur any responsibility for the removal of such exhibits. Every care will be

    taken of exhibits, but the Society will not be responsible for any losses, death, or accidents.

    15. All protests must be lodged with the Secretary within TWO HOURS of the Judge’s award being made, together with a deposit of $5.00, such sum to be forfeited if the protest be considered frivolous by the Committee. In all cases where protests are lodged the exhibitor must carefully describe particulars under which he lodges his protest, as no general protest can be recognised by the Committee. In the hearing of all protests and disputes arising out of the awards, the Committee shall abide by the Judges’ award papers, unless it be shown that the Judges have been wilfully or

    accidentally misled.

    16. All works or other exhibits being sold by auction on the Showgrounds will be subject to a payment of

    5 percent to go to the Society’s funds, but all such exhibits shall be given voluntarily.

    17. In the event of sale, stock prize ribbons will be available for the purchaser for four weeks for

    display purposes and then revert to the exhibitor.

    18. Any person, whether a competitor or not, who in the opinions of the Show Committee, behaves in an offensive manner, either inside or outside the ring to any official of the Society or Judge, shall be liable to disqualification from further competition. The decision of the Judges shall be final and any competitor or exhibitor who abuses either Judges or officials, and is found guilty after enquiry by the Committee, shall be disqualified from further participation in this Show. A report shall be immediately forwarded to the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies and will result in the

    automatic suspension of the competitor or exhibitor from all shows for the remainder of the season.

    19. WORKPLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY

    (a) All Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies Inc. affiliated Associations Showground’s are designated workplaces within the meaning of the Workplace Health and Safety Act 2011 and exhibitors / competitors are required to ensure that they and all persons under their direction or control, including their contractors or subcontractors, comply with all requirements of the Act and the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Associations Inc. holds each exhibitor responsible to discharge its obligations to provide and maintain a safe place and system of work during occupation by the exhibitor/competitor of any area of the affiliated Agricultural Associations

    Showground’s.

    (b) Each exhibitor/competitor will assess the risk to themselves, staff, volunteers, family, other exhibitors, Agricultural Society staff, show visitors, children and any person foreseeably affected by

    the presentation of their exhibit.

    (c) Risks identified by exhibitors/competitors will be eliminated or controlled by the exhibitor/competitor and particular attention will be paid to ensuring public safety and safety of other

    exhibitors/competitors.

    (d) Exhibits will only be held and handled by competent persons whose experience is known to the

    Exhibitor/Competitor.

    (e) A “No Smoking Policy” will be strictly adhered to by exhibitors/competitors and exhibitors/competitors are advised that the use of Primus stoves, any heating or lighting appliances of a like

    character, or any naked light, is strictly prohibited in pavilions.

    (f) Any exhibitors/competitors intending to bring electrical equipment to the Showground’s will be required to ensure that such equipment is fitted with residual current protection and that all electrical leads, tools and appliances have been inspected by a licensed electrical contractor and currently tagged. The use of double adaptors is prohibited and all power boards must also be tested and

    tagged.

    (g) All exhibitors/competitors will comply with the requirements of the Act and its Regulations and Standards in every other respect. This is essential for the safety of all exhibitors/competitors and the general public. The Act imposes very severe penalties in the event of noncompliance with its provisions. Any exhibitors/competitors who do not comply will not be allowed to exhibit at

    Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Associations Inc. affiliated Shows.

    (h) All food stall holders are reminded of their obligations to comply with all relevant State and Local

    Government Regulations and requirements.

    20. PRIVACY STATEMENT

    The information provided by Exhibitors is used by the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Associations Inc. and the Association relevant to this schedule to organise, process and conduct competitions at the relevant Agricultural Show. By entering such competitions you consent to their personal information being used for this purpose including this information being made available to sponsors, breed Associations, the media, the public, promotional purposes, archival purposes, published in publications and could be made available to other third parties for the purpose of

    promoting the Queensland Agricultural Show Movement, or as otherwise required by law.

    Exhibitors have a right of access to and alteration of personal information concerning themselves in terms of the Privacy Act. This may be done by contacting the QCAS Chief Executive Officer or by

    writing to the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies Inc.
