Take a walk around Marina Bay, one of Singapore’s most spectacular areas. Start your journey from Suntec City (the starting point for all 4 routes) and walk along the F1 racing track. Walk up the Benjamin Sheares Bridge and you will reach Marina Bay Sands. From here you can either head to Gardens By the Bay or the Merlion Park where you must not miss out on the chance to take a picture with the iconic Merlion! Marina Bay Sands (Stop No.3 of the yellow line) Housing the world-renowned Sands SkyPark, an infinity pool, celebrity chef restaurants, theatres, an indoor ice-skating rink and luxury retail brands, Marina Bay Sands is a must-visit for every tourist to Singapore. Esplanade (Stop No.2 of the blue or brown line) Esplanade was chosen as one of the 15 most beautiful concert halls in the world. It is one of only five such halls in the world with similar state-of-the-art features, which include reverberation chambers, and an acoustic canopy that modifies the hall to produce optimum sound. Join a guided tour to discover surprises about the Esplanade or catch the many free performances!
This is a quaint little area filled with quirky shops, trendy cafes and graffiti walls, which make great photo backdrops. Hop off at Village Hotel Bugis (Stop No.4 of the red line) and walk towards Haji Lane, which is a tiny lane filled with cute shops. Be sure to look out for obscure doorways between these shops with staircase leading to the shops on the upper levels as well! Right next to Haji Lane is Arab Street (Stop No.5 of the red line), home to lovely traditional shops selling silk, Persian rugs, batik and even organic perfumes.
Here you will also find the golden domes of the Sultan Mosque, a major landmark and congregation point for Muslims. Walk along Kandahar Street to the Malay Heritage Centre, once the residence of the Sultan of Singapore.

There are several beautiful post-colonial buildings in Singapore that are worth a visit. Situated at the old Supreme Court and City Hall building, the newest addition to the museum scene in Singapore is the National Gallery Singapore (Stop No.14 of the brown line). From there, you can walk over to the Victoria Theatre and Asian Civilisations Museum to catch a glimpse of their exquisite architecture. The statue of Sir Stamford Raffles, the famed founder of Singapore, is right in front of the Victoria Theatre.
Make your way to Armenian Street where you can find the Singapore Philatelic Museum and the Peranakan Museum. Just across the road is Emerald Hill, a colourful street known for historical Peranakan architecture and antique shops. Several of the shophouses along Emerald Hill have been converted into bars. SIA HOP-ON BUSThe SIA Hop-On bus offers visitors an easy way to enjoy Singapore sights. Covering 4 bus routes (red, yellow, blue and brown line) with strategically located stops across the city, it is an efficient way of touring Singapore at your own pace. More than a tour, it also doubles up as a transportation system. With a 24-hour validity, you get to start your tours at your own time. It is now easier to see more of Singapore for less. Do look out for the Big Bus maroon front livery before you board the bus.
