Competition and Law Students’ Conference, 2016-National Round (9th - 10th January 2016).

Hon'ble Mr. Justice Anil R. Dave sitting Judge, Supreme Court of India has granted his consent

for his gracious presence as “Chief Guest” in inaugural function on 9th January, 2016.

Kerala is privileged to organize SAARC Round of First Prof. N.R. Madhava Menon SAARC Mooting

Competition and Law Students Conference, 2016 (4th - 6th March, 2016).

Lloyd Law College in association with IBA Chair on Continuing Legal Education; National Law

School of India University,Bangalore and Menon Institute of Legal Advocacy Training, Trivandrum

has organized Advocates Professional Developent Training Workshop for Advocates and Law

Teachers on the theme “Constitutional Litigation and Human Rights Advocacy” on 4th, 5th, 7th and

8th March 2015 at its campus. The programme was designed and directed by Prof. N.R. Madhava

Menon, Honorary Professor and IBA Chair on Continuing Legal Education at National Law School,

Bangalore.

A national worskshop was organised at Lloyd Law College on 16th August 2015 on the topic

“TOWARDS A WORLD CLASS LAW SCHOOL: A ROAD MAP”. It was inaugurated and

presided over by Hon'ble Dr. Justice Arijit Pasayat(Justice (Retd) Supreme Court of India, Vice

Chairman SIT For black money) & Hon'ble DR. Justice B.S. Chauhan (Justice (Retd) Supreme

Court of India, Chairperson, Cauvery water Dispute Tribunal). The theme presentation was

given by Mr.R.Venkatramani (Member,Law Commision of India) and the presentations were given

Prof.(Dr.) R .Venkatarao, Vice chancellor NLS Bangalore, an epitome of knowledge honored Lloyd

Law College with his presence and delivered a special lecture on the topic “Importance of Ethics in

Legal Profession” on 23rd Sept 2015.

6th SURANA AND SURANA INTERNATIONAL TORT LAW MOOT COURT COMPETITION,

PUNE (7-10TH DECEMBER 2012): A team of Lloyd Law College

composed of Sakshi Saran, Shyambhavi Vineet and Divya Shubhra Chatterjee had participated in 6th

Surana and Surana International Tort Law Moot Court Competition held at AKK New Law Academy

Pune, where 28 teams across the country had participated including three international teams.

Students of Lloyd won 2nd Best Speaker Award, 4th Best Memorial Award, 4th Best Speaker award.

The Louis M. Brown and Forrest S. Mosten International Client Consultation Competition (National

Round)(09th– 10thFebruary, 2013 & 08th – 9th Feb, 2014) Organized by: Lloyd Law College

9th K.K. Luthra Memorial Moot Court Competition-2013 Lloyd Law College has been selected

among 60 teams out of apporx 300 team from all over India. This Competition is India's only

exclusive International criminal law Moot Court held in India. Since 2005, the Competition has been

held annually at the Campus Law Centre premises in the memory of Late Sh. K. K. Luthra, Senior

Advocate, an eminent criminal lawyer, whose legal career spanned from 1949 till his demise in 1997.

Cyber Lab

The cyber law lab technology divided in two Internet labs for the batch of 80 students each. The air-

conditioned lab is completely equipped with latest Software CD's of:

Outdoor & Indoor Sports Facilities

The College has ample space for outdoor sports activities viz. football, volleyball, basketball etc. It also has

indoor sports rooms equipped with facilities of pool, table tennis, foose table etc.

Cafeteria-Lloyd Café and Coffee Day

The cafeteria at the campus is an ideal place to chill out after the hectic class schedule. It provides the

students the much needed platform to relax and recharge for the subsequent sessions. Also, it provides a

space for professional dialogue where the students can have discussions on various topics/projects of

interest over a cup of hot/cold coffee. The environment of the cafeteria stimulates and energizes the students

by offering a wide choice of food, light snacks and hot and cold beverages.

OUR PUBLICATIONS

Lloyd Law College publishes two law Journals annually. The Journals are named Lexigentia (ISSN: 2454-

1613) and Lloydians- the Student Law Review (ISSN: 2394- 899X), both are Peer Reviewed.

The primary objective behind the inception of the Lloyd Journals is to provide a forum to writers, enabling

them to voice their opinions about the visions and goals of the Indian society. The Journals promotes and

endeavours to foster a culture of serious academic research and writing amongst the students, academicians

and law professionals through a structured process of mentoring and supervision.

The Chairman of the Editorial Advisory Board of Lexigentia is Hon’ble Dr. Justice B. S. Chauhan,

Chairman, Cauvery Water Dispute Tribunal and former Judge, Supreme Court of India. The members of the

Editorial Advisory Board include the Vice Chancellors of the leading National Law Schools of the country.

The release of the issue of 2015 of both Journals is under process.

Girls & Boys Hostel

College has outsourced hostel facility for boys as well as for girls in the safest, planned, populated and in proximity

to the college in a well built area of Greater Noida. The Hostel undertaking consists of rules that are to be strictly

adhered to in its letter and spirit while availing of the facility. The Hostel fee for the whole year or part is to be

deposited prior to availing of the said facility. Disobedience / gross misbehaviour /misconduct may invite punitive

action ranging from withdrawing the facility to the rustication from the college. Facilities that are provided in the

hostels are:

A. Lodging – 2 bed room / 3 bed room, AC / Non-AC B. Food – hygienic and only vegetarian C. Conveyance, Hostel to college (to-fro) – owned and separate buses

Hostel Rules are available in a separate document, while pursuing hostel facility.

Health Services

Emergency medical aid is provided to all the students in the Kailash Multi-speciality Hospital & Research

Centre and Sharda Hospital Greater Noida, in case any mis-happening takes place during college hours in

the campus or 24hrs in the Girls / Boys hostels.

Conveyance

The College since its inception in the year 2003 is providing conveyance facility to ensure safety, comfort

and time management of the day boarding students. It is available from all locations of Delhi and the

whole of NCR region. It is advised to the guardians to avail of the conveyance facility for their wards

instead of equipping them with personal conveyance keeping in view heavy traffic load, indiscriminate

driving and distances etc.

It is to mention that this facility is not a commercial activity and is grounded on “no profit, no loss” basis.

The students are charged with minimum possible amount required to meet the expenses incurred for the

facility. The bus users have to pay as per their destination for three months in advance contributing smooth

functioning of the facility.

The college administration reserves the right to add, annul and modify the rules mentioned. Any grievance

may be directly communicated to the college Administration. Any student found in violation of the rule(s)

shall be penalized as per the norms.

Programs Offered

B.A. LL.B – 5 Year (After 10+2) & LL.B- 3 Year (After Graduation)

Methods of Instruction

English is the medium of instruction. Methods of instruction include interactive Lectures, Seminars,

Group Discussions, Simulations, Plays, Case Studies, Moot Courts, Mock Trials and Small Group

Workshops. In addition, inspirational talks of legal luminaries on weekly basis are a regular feature.

Placement Policy

Student Placement Training Program

LLC has a unique and innovative curriculum in which Practical Training occupies an important place.

Practice training attempts to expose the students to different aspects of legal work in lawyer's chambers,

courts, administrative offices, quasi-judicial establishment, prosecution departments, police and

correctional institutions, commercial corporate establishments, government law offices, legal aid centres,

legislative secretariats etc.

Procedure for Placement Training

On or before October 30th and March 15th each year, the students are to submit an application, in the form

prescribed for Placement during winters and summers, to the Placement Officer. He/she will correspond

with Advocates, Law Officers, companies and other establishments of law to get their willingness to

accept the candidates on placement. On receipt of their willingness, the candidates concerned will be

informed to prepare to undertake the assignment. During the first and second years, the Internship is

optional and will be with NGOs. During the third year, Internship will be with lawyers of Trial Courts,

during the fourth year with lawyers of the appellate Courts and during the final year with Law Firms,

LPO's, Corporate House, Banks, Insurance and Media Houses.

Early in January and September all placement candidates will be given an orientation on the work to be

done, procedure to be followed, records to be kept, reports to be written and the standard of respect,

loyalty and professionalism to be maintained while under training with various organizations.

TEST STRUCTURE

(B.A.LL.B-5 Year)

ELIGIBILITY To be eligible to appear for “LET-2016”, a candidate must have passed his/her Higher Secondary

School/Intermediate Examination (10+2) or its equivalent examination with not less than 45% marks in

aggregate (40% in case of SC/ST). Candidates who have appeared in the 10+2 examination and are awaiting

results are also eligible to appear in the test. Age of candidate should not be more than 25 years as on 1st July 2016.

The candidate must have passed the qualifying examination at the time of his/her admission and be able

to submit its proof. All offers of admission by “LET-2016” shall be provisional and subject to the approval of Chaudhary Charan Singh University.

TOTAL SEATS: Three Hundred

SCHOLARSHIP: The College may provide liberal financial assistance for the needy and deserving

Candidates. The decision of the college authority will be final in this regard.

The test paper will consist of one question paper containing 150 objective type questions with multiple choices answers.

(LL.B-3 Year-After Graduation)

ELIGIBILITY Admission to the LL.B.-3 Year program is made strictly on merit based result of the LLOYD ENTRANCE TEST "LET" & Personal Interview of the student.

To be eligible for admission in the LL.B-3 Year Degree Program, the Candidate should: a) Have passed Graduation(10+2+3 pattern) in any discipline of a recognized College/University, having

secured minimum 45% marks in aggregate for General Category & 40% marks in aggregate for SC/ST

Category. b) Candidates appearing/appeared for the Annual Examination in March/April are also eligible to apply. c) Age (As per C.C.S. University and Bar Council of India norms)

Note: All the above mentioned rules & regulations are subject to C.C.S. University and Bar Council of India.

TOTAL SEATS: Three Hundred

The test paper will consist of one question paper containing 150 objective type questions with multiple choices answers.

SYLLABUS

(B.A.LL.B-5 Year) General Knowledge & Current Affairs

This section will test General knowledge & current affairs.

English including Comprehension

The English section will test the candidate's proficiency in English based on comprehension and grammar. In

the comprehension section, candidates will be questioned on their understanding of the passage and its central

theme, meanings of words used therein etc. The grammar section will include correction of incorrect

grammatical sentences, fill in the blanks with appropriate words, Jumbled words & Sentences, Antonyms,

Synonyms, Part of Speech, Idioms & phrases etc.

Mathematics

This section will test candidate's Knowledge of elementary mathematics upto 10th standard.

Logical Reasoning

The purpose of the logical reasoning section is to test the student's ability to identify patterns, logical links and

rectify illogical arguments. It will include a wide variety of logical reasoning questions such as syllogisms,

logical sequences, analogies, etc.

Legal Aptitude & Legal Awareness

This section will test the legal aptitude of the students. Questions will be framed with the help of legal

propositions (described in the paper), and a set of facts to which the said proposition has to be applied. Some

propositions may not be true in the real sense (e.g. the legal proposition might be that any person who speaks in

a movie hall and disturbs other that are watching the movie will be banned from entering any movie theatre

across India for one year). Candidates will have to assume the truth of these propositions and answer the

question accordingly.

Candidates will not be tested on any prior knowledge of law or legal concepts. If a technical/legal term is used

in the question, that term will be explained in the question itself. For example, if the word internet crime is

used, the meaning of the internet crime (“The internet crimes include that group of crimes which make

criminal use of the internet infrastructure like (i) Hacking- theft of information, theft of passwords, theft of

credit card number(ii) Launch of malicious programs etc”) will also be explained.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Foreign National (FN):

A student is eligible to apply as a Foreign National (FN) if he/she holds a foreign passport.

Person of Indian Origin (PIO):

A student is eligible to apply as a Person of Indian Origin (PIO) if he/she has a PIO card, and is a citizen of a

country other than India.

Non Resident Indian (NRI):

A student is eligible to apply as a Non Resident Indian (NRI) if he/she has appeared either for the 10 or 10+2

(equivalent to the Indian 10th & 12th) examination outside India. It is mandatory for the Student who falls in

the NRI Category and have appeared for 12th in India to appear for the LET..

APPLICATION PROCEDURE How to Register For LET – 2016

Admission to B.A., LL.B.- 5 Year & LL.B-3 Year will be through LET to be conducted at Chandigarh,

Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Greater Noida, Patna, Bangalore & Bhopal on May 21,

2016(Saturday)

Interested candidates may apply for LET-2016 either of the two processes:

1. The students may apply online for Lloyd Entrance Test “LET-2016”

Payment Advice: As per the instruction given on the Online Form.

2. The Students can also apply offline for Lloyd Entrance Test “LET-2016”.

Payment Advice: I. Demand Draft II. Cash

Make a Demand Draft of Rs. 1000/- in favour of “LLOYD LAW COLLEGE” payable at New

Delhi. Mention D.D, Date & Name of the Bank on the Application form. Cash payment will be

accepted only within the college premises.

IMPORTANT: 1. LET Registration fee is non-refundable. Please note that claims for refund of the LET

Registration fee will not be entertained. 2. The Candidate must mention “LET-2016” at the top of the envelope.

GUIDELINES Online Admit Card will be issued online. In case of non receipt of the Admit Card, the candidate may collect the

same on the date of Entrance Examination in person before 12:00 noon at Test Centre. For this purpose candidate

is required to bring two passport size photographs with them.

1. The Candidate is required to reach the Test Centre latest by 2.30 P.M. The test will start sharp at 3.00

P.M.

2. Bring the following to the Test Centre: a. LET 2016 Admit Card: without which candidates will not be allowed to appear in the test. b. Blue/Black ballpoint pen.

3. Cell phones, calculators, watch calculators, alarm clocks, digital watches with built in calculators/

memory and any other electronic gadgets will not be allowed in the examination hall.

4. Occupy the seat allotted to you by verifying the Roll No. written on the desk and indicated in your

Admit Card.

5. The Test booklet will be distributed just before the starting time of the Test. When you get the test

booklet, make sure that the booklet is in sealed condition. If the seal is found broken or tampered with,

please ring this matter immediately to the notice of the invigilator.

6. The test invigilators will instruct you to open the seals of the test booklet 5 minutes before the

commencement of the Test.

7. Check immediately that all the pages of the Test booklet are in order. In the rare event of the Test

Booklet being defective, bring it to the notice of the invigilator immediately who will arrange for the

replacement of test booklet, if required.

8. You are not allowed to leave the Hall till the Test is over and until the Invigilator collects the Answer

Sheet. You will be allowed to leave the hall only after the answer sheets of all the candidates in your

hall have been collected and accounted for.

9. Candidates found using any unfair means will forfeit their chance of being considered for admission and

will be debarred.
