WORKPLAN

TOR 1: Strengthen the technical capacity in some Latin American countries to evaluate the effectiveness of health promotion and public health interventions; and to develop innovative methodological evaluation approaches and evaluation technologies.

Activity 1: Training health system officials and community leaders who will comprise work teams for promotion of healthy lifestyles and comprehensive care for non-transmittable diseases first at national level and then at regional level within WHO/PAHO…

WORKPLAN

Line of Action 1. Support the review, analysis of evidence and

elaboration of proposals of technical guidelines for the integral

care of the non-transmittable diseases and the risk factors that

are common at territorial level.

•Strategic and operative guidelines. Integral answers to the NTD.

Line of Action 2. Strengthening the response capacity at national

and territorial level of Benefit Plan Management Companies and

Service Provider Institutions, in the promotion of healthy lifestyles and

the integral care of the NTD.

•Report. Second national meeting and technical assistance workshop for the building and formulation of the 2013 Annual Operative Plan. Promotion of healthy lifestyles and integral management of the NTD in Colombia, November 21st through 24th in Cali, Colombia.

•DEVELOPEMENT OF CAPACITIES IN THE TERRITORIES 2013-2015. Program for the approach of the priority dimension of the healthy life free of chronic and disabling conditions.

Line of Action 3. Strengthening national and territorial capacity to

the production and management of knowledge, within the framework of

social determinants of health (SDH) and the social and health

inequities, on selected social territories with emphasis in the

NTD and its risk factor.

•Technical and operative guidelines for the analysis of the NTDs situation.•Analysis of the health situation and its tendencies (ASIS) in the paradigm of the Social Production of Health (SPH)

•Surveillance in public health for NTD.•Situation room: Characterization of the social and health inequalities with emphasis on the NTD. Volume I. Conceptual framework.

•Situation room: Characterization of the social and health inequalities with emphasis on the NTD. Volume II. Estimation of gaps in transversal format.

Line of action 4. Support in the construction of the Primary Health

Care (PHC) strategy and health promotion in transversal and inter-

sectors manner with a territorial focus for the integral care of the

NTD, in correspondence with the Ten-Year Plan in Public Health.

•Roadmap for the health promotion and the integral care of the NTD at territorial level and the mechanisms of evaluation in the frame of the strategy of PHC in a transversal and intersectoral way.

•Technical guidelines to the territorial entities that guide the development of Collective Interventions Plans, in correspondence with the Ten-Year Plan of Public Health, as of what relates to the promotion of healthy lifestyles and the integral care of NTD.

Activity 2: Develop a health promotion course (virtual): Using information to strengthen the analytical capacity for characterizing health inequities as an input for the practice of HP and for action on the SDOH that seek equity among certain countries of UNASUR.

TOR 2: Develop strategies to promote the generation, validation and use of evidence in processes of decision – making and actions on policies in public health and health promotion in selected countries the region of the Americas.

Activity 1: Program: Comprehensive response to chronic non-infectious diseases: cardiovascular, diabetes, cancer and chronic respiratory disease; using the strategy 4x4 of WHO and an integrated response to the SDH and to inter-sectoral actions on CND.

This program rose as general goal, to develop, evaluate and spread a package of technologies that will contribute to strengthen the institutional response and that of society as a whole, in order to face the NICD; acting in a coordinated and synchronized way on the main causes of these diseases, represented in structural factors around the health equity and social determinants, risks factors of behavior, existence of protective environments/territories and food security.

Inter-administrative contract with the Secretariat of Municipal Public Health of Cali, for the establishment of the prevalence of risk factors associated to cardiovascular diseases; design, evaluation and documentation of the system of nutritional surveillance in students; and design and documentation of the prevalence that will allow having a baseline of fruit and vegetables consumption in students.

Participation in the pilot project “Center of Technology for the physical activity, the recreation and the sports / CATODO”.

This proposal has as goal, to develop a model for the encouragement of the physical activity, the recreation and sports in the Colombian population, from the use of the sports values, the technology, the environmental education, the playful activities and the public health.

CATODO contemplated the health component, being the physical activity one of the factors to observe when talking about non-transmittable diseases which occupies the first place in the Colombian population.

Proposal: Impact of the exergames and the recreational games on physical fitness and healthy habits in a teenage scholar population of the Siloé neighborhood – Commune 20 and the municipality of La Cumbre – Valle del Cauca.

Characterization of the programs for the prevention and control of Diabetes Mellitus II and Hypertension in Cali, Colombia.

This research has the goal of characterizing the programs of different entities of health, for the prevention and the control of the Diabetes Mellitus II and Hypertension in Cali, from the voice of those coordinating and implementing them.

The publication of a series of documents is in the process, as result of the agreement 145-2012 with the Ministry of Health, titled: “Strengthening of the integral management in public health in the South American area and formulation of public policies in health promotion.”

RESEARCH MINISYMPOSIUM: PROMOTION OF HEALTHY LIFESTYLES AND INTEGRAL CARE OF THE NTD.

EVENTS:

SECOND NATIONAL MEETING – WORKSHOP OF TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR THE BUILDING AND FORMULATION OF THE ANNUAL OPERATIVE PLAN 2013 FOR THE APPROACH OF THE NTCD

The Second National Meeting and Workshop of Technical Assistance “for the building and formulation of the annual operative plan 2013, for the approach of the NTCD”, was held in Cali (Colombia), on November 21st, 22nd and 23rd of 2012. Nearly 100 people attended, which represented the majority of the Colombian territorial entities.

Cooperation with other OPS/WHO research centers

Project of Technical Cooperation – TCC – Brazil-Colombia “Inter-sector Management for the development of policies and programs of health promotion in the schools of Brazil and Colombia in the frame of the South-South cooperation”.

The expected results in this project are:  In each one of the countries an analysis will be developed to

identify the critical factors and/or enablers of the implementation and results of the inter-sector management for the health promotion in the school environment.

Joint systematization of particularities, divergences and convergences in the strategies of trans-sectorial management for the health promotion in the school environment.

Coordination and development of technologies and tools of inter-sector management for the health promotion in the school environment.

Consolidation, publication and dissemination of results of the project on technical cooperation to support the taking of decisions of the Ministries of Brazil and Colombia, the strategic actors in each country and the regional networks of health promotion in the school environment.
