Gilson in Assuncao, Paraguay Archbishop Mauro Aparecido, Cascavel, PR 10 year anniversary celebration in Crato, CE Bishop Pedro Luiz,Stringhini, Franca, SP Newsletter “The Way” Nº016 - October, 2011 JUBILEE YEAR – 10 YEARS OF HISTORY The Fraternity of Missionaries, “The Way” completed 10 years of existence on the 23 rd of October. To define this day so important for all who are part of this story, the Divine Wisdom inspired our founder to celebrate a jubilee year: “We want to commemorate this date giving thanks to Almighty God for all of the great and innumerous benefits that He has favored us with. On this day we also officially open the Jubilee year (…) the light of canonical recognition of our Community. Without a shadow of a doubt, this has been the greatest of all presents that the Father of Mercies could have given us”. (Fr. Gilson) Because of this we celebrated at all of our missions the anniversary of the community in this same spirit, without forgetting those for whom we were called: our poor. Months were spent preparing for this one moment. All of our preparations represent the zeal for our story constructed during these last 10 years: the first religious, the first habits, the first mission houses, the first favored children, the first lay-associates, the missions, the benefactors, all who joined us, those who remained faithful, and all that has been a part of this story, that was dreamed of first of all in the heart of God. On the occasion of all our celebrations, the feeling of jubilee and gratefulness to God for giving us such a great gift was unanimous. Many people participated, from those who were present at the beginning, to those who have gotten together with us today. It is exciting to contemplate the working of God in the lives of so many men and women. In some missions the moment was taken advantage of for the first communion of some of our favored children, and the entrance of many into the aspirancy and postulancy. There could not have been a better occasion. Our eternal gratefulness to all the archbishops, bishops and priests who accepted our invitation to celebrate with us this special grace: Archbishops and bishops Pedro Luiz Stringhini, Antonio Muniz Fernandes, Mauro Aparecido dos Santos, Wilson Angotti Filho, Alberto Taveira, Werner Siebenbrock, Jesus Juarez, Henrique Soares da Costa, Francisco Javier, Luiz Soares Vieira, Dirceu Vegini, Geraldo Lyrio Rocha, Francisco Barroso Filho, Orani Joao Tempesto, Joao Bosco Cartaxo Esmeraldo. Priests Heitor Moraes, Marcelo, Augostinho, Vincent Chinnaiyan, Sebastiao, Denis, Ricardo, Durvalino, Paulo, Clauber, Pepe, Alfonso, Francisco Vidal, Sebastiao Diogo de Melo, Jaime, Antonio Aldisio, Celio Adriano Cintra, Luiz Carlos, Marcos and Paulo Saraiva. Deacons Luiz Lima da Silva, Rodrigo and Raimundo. And for all those who although not physically present joined with us in prayer. Our sincere thanks to all of the religious from their various congregations and institutes, lay-people, benefactors, friends, favored children, and all who made possible the celebration of this jubilee.
