  • Narrative texts tell a story, and informational texts present facts. In informational texts, most of the times it is best to state information using facts. Other times, a narrative text structure is the best way to provide information. Watch how Mrs. Wilson turns one of her chapters into a narrative chapter. Demonstrate how to use narrative text structure by choosing one of your subtopics and thinking about how you might be able to provide information using narrative text structure. Heres The Scoop!

Think of a character, setting, and action that you could use to provide information in this way. For Example: choose a character (a box turtle), a setting (the beach), and some kind of action (laying eggs). You might begin in one of these ways: One day, a box turtle OR Once there was a box turtle who Writers, remember that you can either choose to provide information by stating facts or by using narrative text structure.
