INFORMATION HANDOUT
WRITTEN EXAMINATION FOR THE POST OF PROBARTIONARY CLERK
INTRODUCTION
This handout gives you detailed information about the Written Examination for the selection to the
clerical cadre. It is prepared to familiarize you with the kind of tests that are given in the competitive
examination. It also gives important instructions about related matters. The assessment of answer
sheets will be done by a computerized machine; hence you should carefully read instructions regarding
handling of the answer sheets and method of marking answer.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Particulars to be noted: Please note carefully your Roll number, Date, Time and Venue for the
examination given in the Admit card.
2. Punctuality in Attendance: Candidates should be present at the examination hall at the time
given in the Admit card. Candidates arriving late will not be permitted to enter the Examination
hall and you will not be allowed to leave the examination hall before the completion of the test.
3. Admit Card to be Filled and Surrendered: The Admit card should be brought, when you arrive at
the venue for the examination. You will be required to sign in the examination hall on your
Admit card in the space provided for the candidates signature in the presence of the
invigilators. (Do not sign in this space on the Admit card unless the invigilators instruct you to do
so.) The Admit Card should be surrendered to the invigilator at the examination time.
4. Specimen Answer Sheets and How to fill in Bio Data Information on it: You will get an OMR
answer sheet in the examination hall, the assessment for which will be done through a
computerized machine. The last sheet of this booklet is a sample of this answer sheet.
5. Compliance with Instructions: You should scrupulously follow the instructions given by the test
administrators and the invigilators at the examination venue at all the stages of the examination
for which you have been called. If you violate the instructions you will be disqualified and may
also be asked to leave the examination hall.
6. Copying or Receiving Any Assistance Not Allowed: Any candidate who is found either copying
or receiving or giving assistance during the examination will be disqualified.
7. Use of HB Pencil and Ball Pen: You should bring with you two commonly available HB pencils, a
pencil sharpener, an Eraser and a Ballpoint Pen (Black). Two Pencils are advised to avoid
mending a pencil during the examination as you may lose time. All answers on the OMR answer
sheet should be marked by using HB pencil only.
8. Handling Answer Sheet: Please handle your answer sheet carefully. Keep it dust free. If it is
mutilated, torn, folded, wrinkled, rolled or dusty, it may not be evaluated. Answer sheets and

How to fill up Bio Data Information
1. Name of the Candidate: There would be space containing 25 boxes in which your name has to
be captured. If your name contains more alphabets, write only the first letters which can
accommodate in the boxes provided.
2. Date of Birth: Write your date of Birth in the box provided in DD/MM/YYYY format and also
shade the appropriate bubble.
3. Gender: Shade the appropriate gender.
4. Candidates Roll Number: You will be assigned Roll Number which will be a Numeric format.
There would be 7 boxes and under the 7 boxes you would find numbers 0 to 9. You will have to
write and shade the box corresponding to the roll number.
5. Question Booklet No: You will have to write the Question Booklet No (5 digits) in Box provided.
Write each of the digits in the boxes provided and blacken the appropriate bubbles by HB pencil.
6. Version of the Booklet: Write the appropriate Booklet version in the space provided and also
shade the corresponding bubble. You will have A, B, C and D versions. This should be done by
you on the day of the test once you are handed the Question Booklet.
