University of Minnesota Crookston offers “in-state” resident rate of tuition to ALL international students! All students pay the same tuition, regardless of where you are from.

Also, any students taking 13 credits or more per semester are charged at a flat-rate for tuition, meaning they are not charged additional per-credit tuition for the credits above 13. This is known as “tuition banding.” Students taking one to 12 credits will be assessed a per-credit charge.

International students save thousands of dollars each year based on the same rate tuition and the tuition banding, and considering the quality and recognition of our degrees, University of Minnesota Crookston offers one of the best values in American higher education.

Additional financial help is available to continuing UMC international students, with more than 300 specialty scholarships awarded. The Office of International Programs is pleased to be able to offer 4 (four) ½ tuition waiver scholarships each year. This is a very competitive scholarship. Applications are available in January and are due February 15 each year, with the scholarship being awarded for the next academic year. Must be an enrolled UMC student (with at least 24 UMC credits) to apply and be eligible.
