Thank you for showing your interest and support for our Wedding Showcase. We know that there is a veritable plethora of Wedding Fayre’s and Bridal Open Days on Sunday afternoons but we hope to do something a little different from the norm. In having an evening event we hope to give potential bridal parties the chance to experience suppliers and their products in a setting that would be similar to their special day. We also hope that in having one of the first events of the year we capitalise on all the festive proposals and New Year energy. Abingdon is currently undergoing a truly exciting transformation. Firstly with the renovation of the historic part of the Guildhall, then with the fantastic new Abingdon County Hall Museum and finally the contemporary development of The Old Gaol set to be completed over the coming few years. All this and the fantastic new Abbey Shopping Centre set to be finished in the Autumn 2012. And like the true local business we are, we would like to put on a great showcase of what Abingdon has to offer the wedding industry. And we realize that the amount of times that we have mentioned “local” makes us sound like something out of the League of Gentlemen! In March 2012 we successfully put on the Choose Abingdon Partnerships ‘Good Living Event’ which was held at the Miele Experience Centre. It was a huge success and only looks to get bigger next year. And the ethos of the Good Living event is what we hope to continue with the Wedding Showcase. We really want to promote business in Abingdon and the surrounding area and showcase the fantastic service and expertise that is just on our doorstep. We really believe that the modern bride and groom are increasingly conscientious about where all the aspects their wedding will come from. And if they can get everything form one area then the more then better. And we hope that having an evening event will create a real party atmosphere. We are even giving all guests a glass of bubbly on arrival! Then each stall can showcase its best bits! On the stage at the Guildhall there will also be a selection of our best bands and musicians to make a real night of it! We have space for exhibitors in the following areas but we must stress that places will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
