TRANSITION PROGRAM

DAILY STRUCTURE • 4 lessons per day

• Each lesson is 70 minutes in length

• 3 periods per week for each subject

• Assembly (1 period/week)

What is Aspire?

ASPIRE COURSES

Enrichment Learning:

• Aspire English/Humanities

• Aspire Mathematics/Science

Students may apply and undertake a combination of

one or both of the above programs.

• Forms are only available online in

same section as the Subject Selection

Form

• You must provide copies of supporting

documents.

• Aspire applications must be submitted

in conjunction with your Subject

Selection form.

• These forms must be submitted in

person to H Block Reception by

4:00pm on Monday 4 September.

ASPIRE APPLICATION PROCESS

INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC

• Complete the Music Audition Application form -

due Monday 4 September 2017.

• All students who have played an instrument in

Primary School will be accepted. We

accommodate all levels except beginner.

• School instruments can be provided for most

instruments.

• Meeting for students in Week 1.

• Lessons and rehearsals begin Week 2.

outside of hours event at the Brisbane Apple

Store

• Staff will be on hand to answer any questions

• You can purchase the device on the night -

discounts may be available

UNIFORM EXPECTATIONS

PARENTS AND CITIZENS

ASSOCIATION

Mr Scott Slade P&C President

PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT:

THE P&C ASSOCIATION

• Encourages closer cooperation between the school, parents and the wider community.

• Members work with the Executive Principal and school staff on behalf of the students’

families to foster an interest amongst the parents in educational matters as well as

fundraising to provide financial resources for the school.

Core Functions of the P&C Association

• supporting the various sub-committees

• operating the canteens and Uniform Shop

• assisting with fundraising

Membership

• complete the application form.

• membership expires in March of each year

Meetings

• 7:00pm on the fourth Monday of each month (except during school holidays/public holidays)

• PAC Foyer, on the Merivale Street Campus. All members of the school community welcome.

Sub-Committees

• Sporting and cultural extra-curricular activities.

• Report to the P&C Association.

• Parents and teachers who are involved in the organisation and fundraising.

• All parents are encouraged to attend sub-committee meetings relevant to the activities in

which their child participates.

Rugby Swimming/Water Polo

Student Personal Insurance Cover

• The P&C Association has arranged insurance cover for all students.

• Personal accident insurance while at school or undertaking school authorised activities,

including during sporting activities and school excursions.

Voluntary Contribution Appeal

• To raise a proportion of the funds we give to the school, which benefits all students

• Parents are asked to consider making a contribution each year to this worthwhile appeal.
