Page 1: Information Diet

We live in an intelligence age

not an information age

What’s the difference?

Simple

In the information age

approximately from 1990-2005

governments, institutions and corporations

tried their best to get all the information that they could possibly find

and that was the key to successback in the days

In the new and upcoming intelligence age 2005-(i don’t know when)

information is important

but there are loads of places that we could get information

(Nowadays)

Page 2: Information Diet

Hence,

we need a new perspective and habits

to some of the information

that you consume

Honestly around 90% of the information that you have collected

it is not getting you anywhereyou also find yourself

spending most of your free time

consuming information

and not

using information or

making changes

Page 3: Information Diet

This book

tries to highlight

a paradigm shift

or

a change of perspective.

He suggests that we

the common people

have a lot of powerif we can use the information for our advantage

He dares us to ask

a simple question

“What if we view our consumption of data like food?”

in that case

our daily consumption of information

that we consume

will resemble a diet

metaphorically

Page 4: Information Diet

In an anecdote by Steve Jobs When you’re young you look at the television

and think There’s a conspiracy As you get older you realise

that’s not true. The networks are in business

to give people exactly what they want

That’s a far more depressing thought.

Page 5: Information Diet

You can shoot the bastards! We can have a revolution From this we get other questions How could it be possible that educated,

intelligent people

have somehow become

capable of believing in a distorted reality?

What if a person’s native

or learned abilities

to process information

Page 6: Information Diet

sensibly could be warped by feeding junk

into the mental machine?

Are we facing information obesity and

malnutrition problems? Is there any science to these problems?

I will in this piece

focus on such questions

as a template to keep me focus

so that you can get the

information that you want.

Page 7: Information Diet

Lets assume that

food is information

for the time being

to explore some of the rhetoricin our society

and how it is bullshit.

If you don’t have enough foodthat’s called malnutrition.

Similarly, when you don’t have enough information

Ignorance if you are starving

but refuse to admit it

than you have anorexia in intelligence age

this is called pride

Page 8: Information Diet

if you over-eat than you are over-consuming

however in our society

we say information overload

however no one gets obese from

having KFC burgers thrown on them

they

hence we should really call it

information over-consumption.

Page 9: Information Diet

The problem is not that

the media is creating useless information

it is that take the decision to

consume that information.

The media imitates the fast food restaurants

the media is creating useless information

it is that take the decision to

consume that information.

Page 10: Information Diet

There is a chemical called

dopemine which functions like a drug.

A drug is any chemical or substance which

changes your physiological conditions

alters your mood and

perception.

Your brain is the biggest drug dealer in the world

Its much more secretive than Rick Ross.(the real one not the rapper)

You never know when it flares upbut feel the effects on you.

You don’t want your brain to be obese.

Page 11: Information Diet

You start to associate the enjoyment with useless

information In this case

useless information

means anything which you are not

going to use in the near future and distance future

Just like you don’t

want yourself to be obese.

You want the 6-pack or the muscular mind

in reality

Hence you have to work

your brain out

Page 12: Information Diet

You must force your brain

to help you solve the problems in your life you must take the conclusions you received from the data and

opinions and information and

make it.

You must try to prevent yourself from taking too much processed

food

you must take more organic food

Page 13: Information Diet

Food which is more natural and not genetically modifiedYou must consume

more statistics and fact based opinions

as they are less likely to be interpreted

and biased.

Your stomach then uses

hydrochloric acid and other bacteria

to create more bacteria

and nutrients

Page 14: Information Diet

In a similar way, you as a person

need to take the facts and

advice

information

and personalize it

so that you can use it

for your own benefitsand move

closer towards

your life goals

or inspire you

to pursue new ones.
