AboutProgramme

Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad isoffering three years M Tech programme for WorkingExecutives / Academicians who cannot completetheir M. Tech. as full time regular student, for theacademic session 2017-2018. IIT (ISM) InstituteIndustry Interaction Facility (IIIF) at:

NBCC Shopping Complex, New Town, Rajarhat,Kolkata, and

Unit No. 401, NBCC Centre, Plot No. 02, OkhlaPhase – I, New Delhi - 110020

will be used for academic interaction with thestudents mostly on weekends.

It is a slow pace programme without compromisingthe course structure or contents. This aims to helpthe Working Executives / Academicians to improvetheir technical aptitude and opts for Higher Degreeas a regular student within the existing pace of theprogram with some time expansion to promotecompletion of program.

This is essentially self financing programme forworking class executives of the industry andacademicians with adequate professional focus.

Course Structure is distributed in six semesters and isdesigned to prepare Working Executives /Academicians for professional careers in the area.

Candidates may be permitted to do their dissertation(in final year) in industries and other approvedorganizations.

EligibilityCriteria

1. Candidates seeking admission to M.Tech.Programme of the Institute should haveMinimum 55% or CGPA/CPI of 5.5 in 10 pointscale (without rounding off) in the qualifyingdegree for UR (Unreserved)/OBC candidates

2. Minimum 50% or CGPA/CPI of 5.0 in 10 pointscale (without rounding off) in the qualifyingdegree for SC/ST candidates.

3. Executives / Academicians / supervisors with oneyear post qualification experience from reputedindustrial / R&D, Academic Institute, publicsector, Government, Semi-Government andreputed private sector organisations orEntrepreneurs / Self Employed persons aredesirable.

Duration The M Tech Program is of three years duration

(Six Semesters).

Session commences as per IIT (ISM) AcademicCalendar.

The classes will be held at IIT (ISM) InstituteIndustry Interaction Facility (IIIF) at Kolkata,NBCC Shopping Complex, New Town, RajarhatKolkata / IIIF at New Delhi Unit No. 401, NBCCCentre, Plot No. 02, Okhla Phase – I

Saturday- 03:00 PM to 8:00 PMSunday- 10:00 AM to 8:00 PMMonday to Friday - 06:00 PM to 8:00 PM (Ifnecessary)

Candidates will be required to visit IIT (ISM),Dhanbad for practical classes on selectedweekends (Saturdays and/or Sundays).

Course FeeThe total programme fee is Rs. 3,30,540.00 (ThreeLakhs thirty thousand five hundred forty only)payable in six instalments:

Rs. 75,500/- at the time of admission as a feesfor first semester.

Rs. 49,962/- as a fees for second semester.

Rs. 62,000/- as a fees for third semester.

Rs. 40,539/- as a fees for fourth semester.

Rs. 62,000/- as a fees for fifth semester.

Rs. 40,539/- as a fees for sixth semester.This is a self-financed course and therefore, no feewaiver / exemption will be allowed and there is noprovision for payment of scholarship to the studentunder these courses.Rules for withdrawal and refund of admission fee is

SelectionApplicant shall have to appear for interview to be

conducted by IIT (ISM) at IIIF Kolkata / IIIF New Delhi.

Final selection will be based on aggregate scores of

Interview and Experience. The sanctioned strength for

the program is mentioned in the previous page for

each department with specializations and the

reservation policy of Government of India meant for

higher educational institutions is strictly adhered to.

Application Form for 3 Year M.Tech. has to besubmitted online, which is available onhttp://iitism.ac.in/index.php/admission/mtechfrom 10th March, 2017 (Midnight) to 26th June,2017.

Scanned copies of the required documentsshould be uploaded with the application form.

The application fee for 3 Year M.Tech. is Rs.500/- and is to be paid by online paymentgateway only.

After submission of the online application form,the candidate should submit a print copy ofsubmitted application form to Assistant Registrar(Academic), IIT (ISM), Dhanbad - 826004 latestby 30th June 2017.

The envelope containing the application formand other necessary documents (2 passport sizephotographs, all marks sheets, certificates,Appointment Letter/Work ExperienceCertificates, if any) should be super-scribed with“Application for Admission in 3 years M.Tech-2017 (Kolkata/New Delhi in _______________”.

Late submission of application form due to postaldelays or any other reasons will not beconsidered by any means.

NOTE: The institute will not issue any letter to any candidate

regarding appearing for written test or attending interview as

well as selection to the Programme. The candidates must

this regard or for any updates, if any.
