Copernicus, formerly GMES, is Europe's Earth Observation and Monitoring Programme coordinated and managed by the European Commission
Copernicus provides accurate, timely and easily accessible information to help decision-makers to take appropriate action
It provides crucial environmental information to understand our planet, the role played by human and how these will influence our daily lives.
Copernicus delivers operational data and information services freely and openly accessible in a wide range of application areas.
The Sentinel missions were developed for the specific needs of the Copernicus programme
More than 30 Contributing Missions

A free, full and open data policy has been adopted by the EU for the Copernicus programme, which foresees access by all users to the Copernicus Sentinels core products.
Processing capabilities and data access provided by 5 cloud-based platforms – the Data and Information Access Services – DIAS. Powered by Copernicus.
