The nature of Infoceptive Parameters

Clinical/Biometrics Parameters• First column of the infoceptive matrix(see Infoception2).• It is a set of measurements performed by technologues

– optometrist ,– biometrics technician,– ophthalmologist..

• Those data can be very sensitive , because linked with the health status of the individual.So any clinical/biometrics measurement process must be conducted with the entire agreement of the individual.

• Examples of clinical/biometrics parameters : • visual acuity, • oculomotor movements, • pupil diameter, • height, blood pressure..

Cybernetic Strain Parameters• Second column of the infoceptive matrix (see Infoception2).• It is a set of variables extracted from User’s experience in human computer interaction.• The variables are based on the Card , Moran , Newell KEYSTROKE model of human computer interaction.• The KEYSTROKE OPERATORS are usefull to describe the basic low levels events of human computer

Interaction.• In order to take account all the events of the interaction ,the EPIC model (Kieras) is briging operators for

the cognitive level of the interaction. • The calculation of those variable ‘s values implies a process including

– interaction assessment via questionnaires, – interpolations– specific sofware tool (APS’ Symbioticiel°) implementation,

• Examples of cybernetic strain parameters : • Ocular global cybernetic strain,• visual global cybernetic strain,• cognitive cybernetic strain, • oculomotor cybernetic strain.• Somato systemic cybernetic strain.

Context Parameters• Third column of the infoceptive matrix (see Infoception2).• It is a set of parameters taken from the environnement of an individual in

transaction with information technologies or systems.• As the focus of the infoceptive profile covers a large range of issues the contextual

parameters reflects this diversity.• Examples of Context parameters

• Screen, • mouse,• keyboard• Air• Acoustic• Temperature• CO2• Interruptions• Energy efficiency

The nature of infoceptive parameters

• The parameters are used to get a represetation of infoception.

• The variable can be – Quantitative/ qualitative– Continuous/discrete

• The designer of the process select the relevant type according the aims and goals he will achieve.
