This producƟon (dispatch and forecast) data is not inpuƩed for various reasons including some packhouse’s unwillingness to engage with industry and/or lack of computer access. For this reason it is not possible to extrapolate the gures from the Weekly Infocado Report to come up with either the dispatch and/or forecast gures in the Quarterly Infocado Report. At any Ɵme the Weekly Infocado Report incorporates around 85% of total producƟon and forecasts however this does vary depending on Ɵme of year (as a result of the fruit coming from dierent regions with dierent levels of packhouse input). It is not funcƟonally possible to incorporate allowances for missing data into the Weekly Infocado Report hence the variance between it and the Quarterly Infocado Report. Comments Hass average retail price has started to ease in comparison to the past couple of months. Shepard avocados are sƟll moving through all the metropolitan ciƟes though reducing in total volume as the Shepard season comes to an end. Industry dispatches and the four weekly forecast has risen in comparison to recent weeks, indicaƟng that there are larger volumes of avocados being harvested in the weeks to come. Harvest season for Sunshine Coast and South Queensland has begun for 2014. The Shepard season is all but nished for North and Central Queensland whilst Hass harvesƟng in these regions is well underway. What you need to be aware of for next month The South Queensland Qualicado workshop was held on 8 May 2014 which focused on growers and packers. There was a fantasƟc response from industry stakeholders with more than 80 people aƩending. For informaƟon regarding presentaƟons that were given on the day visit the AAL website where the individual presentaƟons will be shortly uploaded. New Look Australian Avocado Website Visitors to the Avocados Australia website would have seen the new look consumer webpage since its recent launch. This has been conducted in conjuncƟon with the television campaign that launched on 27 April. Since the week commencing 27 April the consumer website has featured new device response technology and design changes to provide improved page navigaƟon and search funcƟonality from any mobile or desk top device. With over 15,000 unique visitors a month these changes are aimed at providing a beƩer overall user experience for consumers. More detailed informaƟon about the markeƟng campaign will appear in the next issue of Talking Avocados magazine (see the MarkeƟng Update secƟon).
