EnrollmentRequirements

Enrollment requirements should be attached as a scanned copy to the online enrollment application. Original documents shall be submitted to the Registrar’s Office within three (3) months of enrollment. If school documents (F138/transcript) are not available due the the pandemic, a letter of undertaking may be attached instead to the online application and the documents may follow by December 2020.

Step 2: Choose Your ProgramAfter watching the 19-minute video on the website, you will be redirected to the program fees, FAQS, program recommendation test, and enrollment link to choose your program.

Step 3: Applicationfor Enrollment

Fill out the online enrollment application and upload requirements. This will be

reviewed, please wait for email confirmation (approximately 7 to 10 days).

Step 4: Statement of FeesOnce your application has been successfully reviewed, you can expect your Statement of Fees and payment link within 5 working days.

Step 5: WelcomeEmail and Handbook

Upon acknowledgement of your payment, you will receive a Welcome Email from your

assigned Advisor within 5 working days. This email contains your Parent Handbook and

all that you need to know to begin your homeschooling journey with us.

What HG programs can we choose from for School Year 2020-2021?

1. Touch: Customizable curriculum with seasoned homeschool advisor support, for Pre-K until Grade 12 students. Program fee: P35,000 per learner. Sibling discounts apply: 25% for the second child, 50% for the third child, 75% for the fourth child and up (applied on the base program fee).

2. Tech BJU: High-quality blended curriculum with instructional supplements, for Pre-K until Grade 12 students. Program fee: P20,000 per learner.

3. Tech AOP: High-quality fully online curriculum, for Grades 3 until Grade 12 students. Program fee: P20,000 per learner.

4. Online Academy: Comprehensive video lessons on-demand with class advisor support, for Grades 1 to 12 students. Program fee: P45,000 per learner.

Specialized programs are available for exceptional and challenged learners (applicants to these SPED programs undergo evaluation to ensure that HG will be able to serve families as best as we can).

5. The Learning Curve Center (SPED): Specialized homeschooling with campus support (on-ground activities are currently done online due to COVID-19), for Pre-K to Grade 12. Program fee: P70,000 per learner.

6. The Learning Curve Online (SPED): Specialized homeschooling with online support, for Grades 3 to 12 students. Program fee: P50,000 per learner.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I know which program to choose?Your program of choice will depend on factors like preferred curriculum, preferred amount of support, schedule, testing method, etc. But don't worry, you can take our program recommendations questionnaire to discover the best fit for your child’s needs and your family’s lifestyle.

How early can I start homeschooling?For students aged 2 and 3, HG's nursery program uses the Kidstarter Curious Curriculum, while Pre-K students aged 4 may take either Touch or Tech-BJU. DepEd accreditation officially begins in Kinder, and the child must be 5 years old by June 1. For those who will be turning 5 between June 2 to October 31, students must take the Kinder Readiness Test first. For Grade 1, students need to be at least 6 years old. US accreditation begins at Pre-K for 3 years old (by October 31).

Can I work and homeschool at the same time? It is certainly possible to work and homeschool your children. We recommend that you use a structured program (Tech-BJU or Online Academy) that will allow you to be your child's learning facilitator rather than the teacher if you are not able to dedicate the recommended 2-3 hours daily for teaching time. As a facilitator, you connect the child with the learning tool and curriculum, and supervise and guide them.The Tech-BJU program is very helpful as it providescomprehensive video lessons by subject specialist teachers. The Online Academy provides additionalassistance to facilitators by monitoring progressand providing daily lesson schedules weekly.

Are you DepEd-accredited?We offer two forms of accreditation, US and Philippine accreditation. The Philippine accreditation is provided by our partner school, Victory Christian International School, included in the rankings of the Top Ten International Schools in Metro Manila (The Knowledge Review Magazine, 2018). VCIS is DepEd accredited for K-12 and holds a valid Home Education Permit (HEP) which is required by DepEd for a school to operate homeschool programs. The U.S. accreditation is provided by our partner school, Wellspring Christian Family Schools based in Maryland U.S.A., a Tier 1 NCAA-accredited school, and is particularly beneficial for those who are planning to enroll their child in a college abroad or are expats.

Which accreditation should I choose: Philippine or US?In choosing the accreditation, you must factor in future plans. Both types of accreditation are recognized in the Philippines and abroad. We have had graduates accepted into top Philippine colleges such as UP, Ateneo, and De La Salle, as well as international colleges such as Brown, NYU, Stanford, and University of Georgia. Under the US accreditation, students will not be required to study Filipino language or Araling Panlipunan, but rather, US History and a foreign language. By default, all our programs includePhilippine accreditation in the fees; the US option isavailable at an additional fee.


How do I choose the curriculum, books, and materials appropriate for my child?If you choose the Online Academy, Tech-BJU, or Tech-AOP programs, these follow curriculum packages which include the books and materials you will need for the school year. The package will be purchased together with enrollment and books, provided within 14 days of enrollment. For the Touch program, you will be provided a book list upon enrollment, which contains our recommended books as well as a list of optional/alternative books you may purchase. You may also schedule a curriculum consultation with a learning advisor who can guide you in making your choice.

What is the difference between Tech and Touch?Tech provides structure for the student, allowing for independent learning through the use of our learning platforms. These contain comprehensive video lessons, teacher guides, activity sheets, and online or printed materials. The daily lessons and full-year coverage is preset and planned out for the parent and student to easily follow. Parents’ training on the platform and tools are provided along with a support advisor in case you get stuck. Grading and monitoring of students are based on quizzes for each unit and quarterly online exams.

The primary difference between Tech and Touch is that the Touch program provides you with a seasoned homeschool advisorto support and guide you through your journey, as wellas an open curriculum allowing you to pick and chooseyour child's books or select from our recommendedBundles. Touch students have the benefit of doingPortfolio Reviews, which serve as presentations of all theirlearnings every quarter.


What is the difference between Tech-AOP and Tech-BJU? Tech-BJU is a blended curriculum provided by Bob Jones University Press, and it features a blend of online comprehensive video lessons by expert teachers and materials, as well as printed books and worktexts for the student. Tech-BJU is for Pre-K to Grade 12 students.

Tech-AOP, open to Grades 3 to 12, is a fully online curriculum provided by Alpha Omega Publications. This means all of the lessons and materials will be available online. Tech-AOP is ideal for visual and independent learners who may not need comprehensive video lessons but would benefit from the interactive text-based curriculum. This online curriculum is ideal for high schoolers as it includes an array of electives and test prep courses (SAT, GED etc).

What’s the difference between Tech-BJU and Online Academy?The main difference is that Online Academy has class advisors to help parents monitor their child's progress. Both programs use BJU DLO as their curriculum, which features recorded videos of lessons delivered to your child on-demand by expert teachers.

What strands are available for Senior High School?For school year 2020-2021, HG will offer two (2) strands: GAS - General Academic Strand and ABM - Accountancy,Business and Management. These strands are onlyavailable under the Touch Program, while Grades 11 and12 are available for all programs (Tech, Online Academyand Touch) under the US accreditation with multipleelective options.


Does enrollment follow the conventional school calendar?Enrollment for families happens every March, June, September, and December (US accreditation only). Thus, interested families have the advantage of starting homeschooling earlier or later than June. The school year should ideally be completed in 10 months, however you have 12 months included in the program. You may also extend up to a maximum of 15 months (pro-rata fees apply).

What if some requirements aren’t available yet due to the lockdowns of our previous school?You can submit a Commitment to Fulfill Requirements then complete your requirements by December 2020.

Are installment plans available? Our payment plans are different per program. Our Touch, Online Academy, and TLC programs offer one-time,two-part, and five-part payment scheme options.The Tech programs offer a one-time or two-part payment plan.


Can I hire a tutor?Yes, you may hire a tutor to assist with homeschooling. The tutor may undergo the included training programs together with the parent. HG also offers Online Group Tutorials in Math, Science, English, Filipino, and Social Studies for Grades 3 to 10 DepEd & WCFS and Grades 11 & 12 WCFS students through the help of professional teachers. Good for one academic year (or 10 months), the tutorial will happen in a group setting wherein your child will join other students of the same grade level. There is a set mini-lesson for 15 minutes, but the majority of the time (35 minutes) is given for students to ask questions via chat while the teacher will discuss these questions or finish with a check up game or activity if there are no questions.
