The Woods Have Eyes

This is our first influence being ‘ The Woods Have Eyes’. We found this poster after researching posters including our eye ideas. We quite like this idea as it features numerous different imagery and clearly showing the genre. The eyes capture the audiences attention in which we wish to achieve from our poster, also relating to the title of the film. We also like the idea of having a tag line with our film similarly to this one.

It seems to sound similar to our film; hunting of Lucy at night during her dreams.

The Silence of the Lambs

This poster relates well with our intial ideas. We knew we wanted the eyes and we considered using the face of Lucy with the eyes of Ruth similarly to our practice picture in our previous post. We thought we could have something gon her lips being the title or Ruth herself.

We also like the paleness of the poster making the title and the insect stand out which could be effective on our poster.

The Eye

This is one of our favourite posters due to the simplistic of it. We like the whole focus on the eye relating back to it’s title and creates a creepy effect yet intriguing the audience as to wishing to know what it is about.

It is a simple image of literally an eye and had been photo shopped adding in an hand as if it’s crawling out. Its an influence as we like the idea of using an eye and also we like the way the title has been thicken to stand out against the white background.

The GrudgeThis poster is highly iconic showing the key theme of the film and has a creepy feel. It creates suspense as doesnt include the whloe of the girls face but simply just the eye.

The black and red theme works extremely well showing the films dark theme. We think we could incorprate this theme or the opposite being white like ‘The Eye’ poster.

The Shutter

This poster is highly creepy yet easy to create which is one of the reasons why we found it quite fasinating.

Its of an mask with family photos surrounding it (layered underneath) to show the films genre. We particularly like this poster as it doesn’t give too much away and the titles work well as relates to the brightness of the masks face.

The Eye (b)This is a key influence for us as it involves the eyes, the corridor and the child. Similarly of the three images we wished to involve in our poster. We think we could use this highly as an influence using the corridor with Ruth in it and the eyes of Lucy fixed on her.

We believe the titles work well as they have a eerie look with the curves and different levelling. Also the brightness of the door opening creates a suspense mood about the poster.

Our Original Influences; Sixth Sense

We thought it was important and helpful if we looked at our films original influences and their posters.

The sixth sense is an interesting photo having the Childs silhouette similar to the silhouette we wish to use with Ruth. The six number stands out around him relating to the film’s title. Our title being ‘Blink’ would work with a eye and the child.

Paranormal Activity 2

We quite like this poster as the effect is of the video camera consistantly used throughout the film. We thought we could use a print screen of a certain moment in our film and include the reviews above the photo.

The reviews work well as they can intrigue the audience into watching the film thus could work with our poster.

The Omen

We like this poster as it mixes child innocence yet creates an scary/creepy mood in which we want for our poster. The lighting has been edited which we could experiment with and the colouring works well with this.

Again red and black is used creating a strong impact on the poster showing the true genre of the film.

The Children

This is our key poster influence as its using the same stragedy as ours. We like the close up of the eye similarly to ‘The Eye’ poster with the children in it and we also like the cracks on the baby dolls face. We could use this idea with inks relating back to our production company.
