Haystack Server Once you have enabled the Haystack extension, your device acts as a Haystack Server automatically.

The default behavior is to enable discovery. If you wish to disable discovery on a per project basis, then

add the disableDisovery tag on your projMeta, or you can disable discovery on InferStack Server via

settings.props.

Haystack Client You set up the Haystack Client by adding a connector for each Haystack Server that you want to access.

Add Connectors You need to set up a connector for each Haystack device that you want to access. Use Builder to add

Connectors for each Haystack device. Once in the Builder app, press Connectors in the top menu to see

the connectors in the right column.

The Plus (+) sign in the upper right lets you add Connectors.

Haystack Discovery InferStack implements a multicast discovery protocol. The ConnApp for Haystack has a Discover button

that will find all the projects running on your local network and lets you easily add them as connectors.

Note: After you Add your connector, you will need to edit it to add user and password.

Note: If you do not discover an InferStack device or server, check to make sure you entered Site URL in

its Settings app - Project tab.

If you do not discover your devices, select the Connector Type (Haystack) and enter the fields for your

device:

‘haystack’ slot added to them will be added when you add the site or the equip to your equipment tree.

If set to ‘No’ then all points will be added, even if they don’t have haystack slot in them)

Note: You should make sure Haystack Slot is No for connectors to InferStack devices and servers.

Create Sites, Equipment or Points

From Connector Press the right arrow beside Equip to see the tree of sites, equipment and points that it found in your

device.

Drag one or more sites, equipment or points in the right connector tree to the left equipment tree to

add them.

Note: There is a problem where dragging site(s) or equip(s) from the connector to the tree causes

errors by copying many extra items. You should only copy points.

When the equipment changes color, you can release the mouse to create a new point there. You can

drag an entire site to get all the points in it if desired.
