With any opening the wire diameter determines the open area and thus the screening capacityof a screen section. Combinations of opening and wire diameter require specific crimping dies toensure high quality screens. W.S. TYLER CANADA carries a wide range of crimping dies. We offerour customers the best crimp for the required specification and application.

In Canada, we weave square openings from 100 Mesh (0.0060” opening) to 6” and larger ifrequired. W.S. TYLER also invented the Ton-Cap® and Ty-Rod® screens, whose slotted openingsprovide higher open area and are available from 120 Mesh (0.0050” opening) to 3” and larger.

TYLER COBRA VIBE SCREENSTM Self Cleaning Screens

Cobra VibeTM ScreensTyler Cobra Vibe ScreensTM are high produc-tion wire screens developed to enhancecleaning and non-blinding action, usingindependently vibrating warp wires. Thevarious designs provide screening accuracyclose to traditional wire mesh in square orslotted openings. They significantly reduceblinding and pegging in severe applications.

Tyler Cobra Vibe ScreensTM are custom-fabricated to meet customerrequirements - no deck modification is required. The straight and horizontallycrimped wires provide a flat surface for reduced friction and extendedwear life. Tyler Cobra Vibe ScreensTM are manufactured in our High Carbon Ty-Pro® Wire and in Stainless Steel; they come in four designs.

The Cobra VibeTM PQ consists of two horizontally crimped warp wires,which are designed to create a square opening. The screening accuracy isclose to a regular square opening. However, it allows all warp wires tovibrate independently from each other providing excellent self-cleaningaction.

For extremely sticky applications in which Cobra VibeTM PQ will not achievea sufficient cleaning effect, a Herringbone design can improve the situa-tion. Cobra VibeTM PH offers maximum cleaning action and is capable ofhandling more moisture than PQ and PT.

By adding straight wires, a triangle-like opening is created: Cobra VibeTM PT. The straight wires make the screen stronger to take heavierloads. Finally, we have re-designed W.S. Tyler’s traditional Multi-Shute-Screen: Cobra VibeTM PM. This design offers maximum open area and canalso replace traditional harp-screens.

COBRA SLOTTM TY-CLEANTM

Cobra SlotTM

Whenever passing flats and elongated pieces are not a con-cern, Cobra SlotTM is an attractive screening media. On a side-tensioned machine, the alternating straight and intercrimpedwarp wires provide a good material agitation. The speciallydesigned layout provides wire-movements within the crimpsfor enhanced cleaning action.

The shute wires are custom-placed on the bar-rails of yourscreening machine for maximum open area.

Typical applications for Cobra SlotTM are “Desanding naturalbank run material” and “Removing fines from crushed mate-rial”.

For applications in which screening accuracy is critical, squareopenings have been necessary so far. Very often, this led topremature blinding and pegging of the screen sections.

Ty-CleanTM uses the Cobra-SlotTM theory transferred to a squareopening. Alternating straight and crimped warp wires providea better material shift. The straight warp wires have the abili-ty to move slightly within the crimps. This enhances the clean-ing action significantly.

A typical application for Ty-CleanTM is “Bottom deck asphaltscreening”. Ty-CleanTM comes in standard openings from 1/8” to1/2”.

Double TTM

This crimping and weaving design offers extended wear life inhigh impact areas. Double TTM is the ideal scalping media whena regular Heavy Duty Square Opening is too light and aPerforated Plate is too heavy or too expensive.

The unique crimps provide excellent product shifting, allowingfines to pass quickly. Less fines in the crusher will consequentlyextend the lifetime of your manganese sections.

Double TTM is manufactured in our Ty-Pro® Wire and comes inopenings from 1” to 5”. Other openings are available uponrequest.

Alloys for Wire Screens

Stainless Steel T304 and T316have a smooth surface with good corrosion resist-ance qualities. The tensile strength is lower thanTy-Pro® or Ty-GerTM Wire.

Stainless Steel T301is highly wear and tear resistant with high elastic-ity and a higher tensile strength.

Stainless Steel T430has magnetic qualities and is often used in foodapplications.

Ty-Pro® WirePrecisely formulated raw material and a specialheat-treating process are the characteristics of ourTy-Pro® Wire. It takes about twice as much energyto fracture Ty-Pro® Wire as it does to fracture tra-ditional Oil-Tempered Wire.

The result is better impact resistance and extend-ed wear life in the field.

Ty-Pro® Wire is our standard aggregate wire andused from 1/8” to 4” openings.

Ty-GerTM Wireis part of W.S. TYLER’s High Carbon Wire range. Due to a patented special drawing process it is highly wearand tear resistant and yet extremely elastic. Historically the smallest high carbon wire available in NorthAmerica is 0.025”. With Ty-GerTM Wire our range is expanded to 0.005” wire diameter. W.S. TYLER CANADA cannow offer openings of up to 68 Mesh (0.010” opening).

Ty-GerTM Wire has up to two times the tensile strength of stainless steel and up to four times the strengthof basic steel. Field tests in Potash Mines, Abrasives and Glass Recycling have proven, that Ty-GerTM outlastsboth basic and stainless steel by up to four times.Ty-GerTM Wire Cloth is manufactured and stocked in St. Catharines.

OTHER REPLACEMENT SCREENS

Pre-Tensioned FramesRound and rectangular pre-tensioned screens are used forfine particle separation in dry and wet screening processes,e.g. for drainage and drilling mud. We supply completescreen frames for these screening machines.

An optimum tensioning of round and rectangular screens isessential for their service life and the capacityof the screening machine. The screening equipment devel-oped by HAVER & BOECKER guarantees uniform tension-ing of these screens.

We also re-screen your frames. The used or damaged screenwill be carefully cleaned and then re-screened with yourrequired wire cloth specification.

All screens can be custom produced to your individualneeds: with center holes, support bars, support screens andrubber balls for pulsating effects to prevent blinding.

Test Sieves are made to the current ASTM and ISO specifications. The sieve cloth used in production is exclu-sively woven by HAVER & BOECKER and W.S. TYLER, assuring consistent high quality products.

W.S.TYLER offers a complete line of Test Sieving related Laboratory Equipment and Accessories. The pro-duct line has grown in direct response to marketplace demand. With our Computer Particle Analyzer (CPA) product line,W.S.TYLER is again taking particle analysis to new levels.Advancements in the field of optoelectronics have beenused to develop image analysis measuring equipment thatcan determine the size and shape of particles.

The CPA units provide a completely automated processthat uses a photo-optical sensor to measure particles asthey free-fall through a beam of light. This process pro-vides a direct correlation to test sieving.

These new instruments provide an alternative to conven-tional sieving, that is much less labor intensive and providesresults, that are more accurate and more repeatable in afraction of the time required for sieving. Any results canbe printed in either a graphical or tabular format.

FINE SCREENING AND FILTRATION SYSTEMS

Woven metal wire has been used for filtration for more than100 years. It excels in giving problem free processing and is eas-ily cleaned with excellent durability. In addition to superiormechanical strength, it processes a higher heat stability thanany other material. It shows extremely high resistance tophysical and chemical effects.

TYLER-HAVER POROSTAR® is a woven wire cloth laminate. Itsindividual woven wire cloth layers are closely bonded togeth-er by diffusion. This close diffusion results from a second ther-mal treatment after the first sintering process. The Duo-Sinter-Technique employed in the manufacturing ofTYLER-HAVER POROSTAR® leads to the diffusion of all wiresin contact with one another. The geometrical structure ofthe individual woven layers is preserved.

A stable porous filter plate is thus created, with predetermined characteristics in terms of pore-size, pore-distribution, porosity and permeability. TYLER-HAVER POROSTAR® can be formed and welded and is corrosionresistant.

POROSTAR® opens up new areas of filtration and fluidising techniques for the application of metallic wireweaves. Migration-free filtration in the range from <1 micron to 200 microns is made possible. Even at maxi-mum pressure, POROSTAR® cannot release any small parts of the filter medium. Architecture & Design

The use of woven wire cloth for architectural design applications has inrecent times, become increasingly popular. The reason is clear, this contem-porary material offers a high aesthetic appearance coupled with excellenttechnical qualities. Hence many architects and designers have beenincorporating TYLER wire cloth into a variety of their projects.

One of the many features of wire cloth is the variety of surface effects thatare possible. TYLER meshes come in many different patterns, each with itsown characteristics in terms of strength, transparency, metal density, surfacefinish (electrolyte polishing, etching, anodic oxidation lacquering etc.) andoptical effect (material, type of weave). This results in a highly attractive, yetstrong and manageable material that is adaptable to virtually any designapplication.

TYLER Wire Cloth and Screens are ideal for applications such as paneling forceilings, walls & facades, sound absorption, sun protection & screening,staircases & balustrading , privacy/security, electromagnetic shielding, interiorpartitition, light reflection, optical design, aviaries, advertising media orprecision reinforcement to name just a few.
