INTRODUCTION
Haematococcus Pluvialis It is a fresh water species of chlorophyta from family Haematococcaceae. It is usually found in temperate region. It is a green microalgae contain astaxanthin i.e. strong antioxidant.More than 40g of astaxanthin (Keto-carotenoid) can be obtained from 1kg of dry biomass.Astaxanthin produced from Haematococcus Pluvialis is a main source for human consumption.

ASTAXANTHIN
• Red fat soluble pigment• Higher antioxidant properties.• Used in various drugs, lotions and creams• Protects brain from nervous damage• It has anti-cancer, anti diabetic, anti-inflammation activities
