With the object of maintaining contact with labour and resolving disputes and differences which may arise between them and the administration, through the process of negotiation.

JOINT CONSULTATIVE MACHINERY

With the object of harmonious relation and securing the greatest measure of co-operation between the Government and the general body of its employees in matters of common concern and with the object further of increasing efficiency of the public service, the Government of India have established a machinery for joint consultation and arbitration of unresolved difference.

Level of Joint Council ◦ National Council to deal with matter affecting all

Central Government employees.

◦ Departmental Council to deal only with matters affecting the staff in a particular ministry.

The Official Side will be appointed by the Government and Members of staff side will be nominated by the recognized associations. The scope of Council will include the matter related to condition of service and work, welfare of the employees, improvement of efficiency and standards of work.

WORKERS PARTICIPATION IN MANAGEMENT

Objectives: Establish a good communication system Promote mutual understanding between

management and workers Create a sense of belongings among workers Prevent alienation & exploitation and to create a

proper climate for cordial and harmonious employer-employee relation

Handle resistance to change Effective Participation of workers result in:

A sense of involvement among workers in organizational purpose & activities

A sense of inducement to contribute their best with a sense of commonness

A sense of commitment to decisions to which they were a party
