    Research in lactose cakingArla Foods Ingredients (AFI) R&D, the Department ofFood Science at University of Copenhagen and INRA,a French research facility specialising in dairy, areo ering the right candidate a 3-year Industrial PhDscholarship. You will be employed by AFI and based inNr. Vium, Denmark, but expected to carry out 50 % ofyour work at the facili es of INRA near Rennes, France.

    The research project will focus on vapour and heattransport in lactose powder with an emphasis on itsimpact on large-scale produc on. Lactose powder is animportant ingredient in the food industry and especiallyin infant formula. More knowledge about caking ands cking of lactose powder is needed in order to securehigh quality powders and to advice customers on howto handle lactose powders in applica ons. In otherwords, your research will be of signi cant importanceto AFI and consumers of all ages all over the world.

    Quali ca onsYou hold a degree in Engineering, Food Science,Chemistry, Dairy Science, Biochemistry or another

    relevant, scien c background. However, you musthave experience in food chemistry, general processingor both. In order to ful l the requirements for the Dan-ish Industrial PhD programme, you must have achievedthe following grades: a weighted grade point averageof at least 8.2 on the Danish 7-point grading scale or 9on the 13-point grading scale for your en re Mastersdegree and at least grade 10 for your nal thesis orexamina on project (if applicable).

    As a person you are naturally inquisi ve, curious and

    ambi ous. Half of your work will take place at AFIsR&D department in Nr. Vium, Denmark, where you willenjoy a challenging scien c work environment. Youwill be the 15th member of our team of professionallypassionate engineers and scien sts.
