About GRAIDCOGRAIDCO (Global Relief Aid and Development Company) has extended their range of products and services for the Industrial Kitchen Equipment division. During the last 2 years GRAIDCO has closely co-operated with their several suppliers in order to bring this specific activity to the next level. This has resulted in a wider assortment of equipment and some project concepts that can be utilized for different applications. Next to our regular supplies for a wide variety of Kitchen and Catering Equipment, we have now also looked at the possibilities for supplying this equipment on a project basis for the sectors as mentioned below. Where we can also look at the possibility for a turn-key approach, meaning that we can do; consultancy, supply of equipment, installation, commissioning and training.

Refugee CampsAfter a disaster people are often displaced from their homes and put into temporary camps. Since the shelters only provide limited facilities for home cooking. It is often essential that a central kitchen facility is established, that can produce basic meals in relatively big quantities, several times a day. GRAIDCO can provide several solutions for this, which can be in the form of a fully equipped camp kitchen housed in a professional tent structure or a modular sandwich panel construction or by means of a professional mobile field kitchen.

Remote Camps for WorkersOften construction, mining and oil/gas plants are located in remote areas where the workers stay in special fully accommodated camps for a longer period. The available dormitories itself mostly do not foresee in any other facilities. This means that these workers will need to have access to professional catering and laundry services. GRAIDCO can offer a turn-key solution in the form of a fully equipped kitchen, canteen and laundry facilities. When required GRAIDCO can also take care for the installation and commissioning of this equipment.

UN Field MissionsThere are over 130 UN field offices, which include peacekeeping, political, humanitarian and specialized offices. Often these field offices have their own canteen facilities with suitable catering services to provide their employees with a full selection of meals and drinks during lunch and coffee breaks. Education and Training ProjectsGRAIDCO has developed several solutions for education and training projects in developing countries that involve any type of kitchen, catering or canteen equipment. For these projects we have distinguished two major types of projects.

Provision of industrial kitchen equipment to school canteens zand restaurants Many schools in developing countries have student dormitories and have the responsibility to provide students with proper boarding facilities. As such they offer students the possibility to have a proper meals during lunch and dinner time. For these schools GRAIDCO offers the full range of kitchen, catering and canteen equipment.

Hotel and tourism training centres GRAIDCO has developed several concepts for the turnkey development and implementation of centres of excellence for the Hotel and Tourism sector. These concepts are based on creating a real life practical learning environment reflecting all aspects of this sector and include training and demonstration facilities like; professional kitchen, restaurant, bar, reception, housekeeping, hotel rooms, laundry and dry-cleaning, etc.

Refugee camps are normally temporary based, however reality has learned that these camps more and more get a semi-permanent character. Since these camps are also becoming bigger and bigger, they also need to have professional facilities for the refugees. Together with several partners GRAIDCO has developed several concepts for customized prefabricated modular based community accommodations, which can also be used for refugee camps. Prefabricated modular structures minimize the construction time and cost, whereas the faster the buildings can be used, the sooner the operations can be begin. In this context we have been involved with our Turkish partners in establishing and equipping the Biggest Syrian Refugee Camp in Turkey. Assuring that the refugees have access to multiple meals a day and the lack of cooking facilities in the shelters requires a professional solution for big scale food preparation and distribution. GRAIDCO has the full range of professional kitchen and catering equipment available for these purposes. This equipment can be integrated in the existing facilities or we can provide fully self-supporting modular or mobile kitchen and bakery units.

Refugee Camp Projects

GRAIDCO together with their partners have developed several turn-key concepts for establishing professional remote camps for workers in the; construction, mining, oil and gas sector. Several solutions can be offered.Considering the remoteness of these areas, the limited facilities available in the dormitories, the fact that workers often work in 2-3-4 shifts and stay in the camps for a longer period. There is a big requirement to offer the workers professional facilities to make their life as easy as possible when they are not working.

These can vary from specialized offices like ; UNICEF, UNESCO, WFP, WHO, FAO, UNDP etc. to Peace Keeping Missions and Political and Economic Offices. As such the UN employs a lot of people worldwide. Particularly the Peace Keeping Missions often operate on camp type basis away from city centres and facilities. Typical for these operations GRAIDCO offer the full range of industrial kitchen and catering equipment, which can be integrated in the existing facilities. Or GRAIDCO can design and supply a fully self-supporting unit. In addition GRAIDCO also provides the full range of equipment for the canteens and also professional laundry or semi automatic operated machines can be supplied as standalone units or as a 20-ft or 40-ft containerized version ready for use.

United Nations Agro Business Development Projects Several specialized UN agencies implement worldwide projects that are related to any form of food technology, processing and production. One of the major programs under which these project are implemented are the so called Agro Business Development Projects. These projects can vary from the development of small bakeries, small pasta factories, fruit and vegetable processing to different kind of end products, fish and meat processing, cold chain storage, etc. including the packing into consumer portions.
